Thanks Kuma. So I finished up the Howe Stealth install a while back and tested it out my Sandpit 2 weekends ago.All went well. All I had was 2,3/4×36spline -3/4 smooth straight joiners The Revolt rack n pinion has a 5/8 36 spline -3/4 smooth U joint. So I needed an uncommon 3/4×36 -5/8×36 U joint Only Google search was a Borgenson? At around $250 to /$500 each!! WTF! So I cut off the 3/4-36spline portion off the straight. Then cut off the smooth 3/4 off the Revolts RnP and welded it together to get my RnP joined to the Howe SQ. Then made a bracket that utilised the 2 front AArm bolts and the upper lateral shock bracket tube brace. More pics to come of that.

Well test runs at the sandpit went well with the Steering Quickener and FL250 steering yoke. Recently made a cockpit foot cover that goes on the inside of the rack and pinion box and one fancy one on the frontal gap between the lights. Then did the same silver over black paint scheme CFibre style. Also just became 1st time Grandad! Woohoo.

Thanks Lone...he's already nearly 2 months old now. Better get his melon size for a helmet fit yeah? Can't wait to sit him between my legs in the Nytro and let him hold the steering wheel while driving just like I did with all my 4 brats. Where does all the fn time go Doc? Things extra quiet here what? So good time for some pics. Went to my Armpit ...I mean Sandpit again for another 3 dayer.Fri Sat Sun. All went well for me...but not my mate. He parks his Rzr&quad and trailer at a mates farm which is on the way to my Sandpit. Well when we arrived at campspot and he went to turn the Rzr key not even a rrrr, rrrrrrr. Not even a click click....cllickity click! Total Flattery...he left the fn key on for over 4 weeks there. At least he brought his quad too. Lucky his son was still coming and told to bring another Dekka. The Nytro was a big favourite with everyone again. So many happy looks and smiles and thumbs up over the 3 days there. Real good vibe buggy...So many smiles per gallon!

Good to hear from ya Baz. Ya the site is very quiet. I really enjoy seeing your sandpit. Is that a fishing pole on that quad? Did you catch anything, cook it over the open fire? Smiles per gallon - love it! |

Gday Rich and same to you mate! Yes that's a fishing rod on the back of the quad. No luck in fishing. It's a very shallow beach line and all the good fishing is just a tantalizing few hundred metres out. Lots of submerged reefs and many ol ship wrecks litter here. We are going to try our luck with a alu dinghy only on a low swell calm day. There are big Jewfish and Pink Snapper only a few hundred metres off shore. We are in the area of the Gilt Dragon wreck 1656. http://www.giltdragon.com.au/index.php/ ... n-history/ And just south of us is where the survivors sheltered in a small cave. https://youtu.be/H3X9EB66Iw0 Lots of Wrecks per Galleon! |

Another great weekend with sunny calm ocean. No swell or waves and my mate decides not to bring the dinghy after me convincing him to bring it! Aaarrghh! It was totally great launching conditions. Anyway some pics and 1 quick vid before leaving.

Last run back down beach before packup. That beach outer edge can get real angled and wide.Great fun drifting sliding down it at speed but this time small. Also it's always dead smooth as no one but me drifts on it! (youtube)iGPit5pEZKg(/youtube) https://youtu.be/iGPit5pEZKg |

After the last bugrun I finally realised I just have to install a door. Reason being that with all the contortions needed to enter exit the Revolt butt pivoting from a stretched bunghole off the midrail and then legs straddling around the front fuel tank as you lower yourself in just had to change. I woke up around 2am feeling as I tho I just gave birth to that Revolt thru the manhole. So first up no 1.25 tube hinges for sale in Aus only found an interlocking type at $198 WTF! So I'll make my own. My mate had some drilled laser cut plates wrongly drilled destined for the bin.So perfect for me as I could see cut in halves would make the outer inner pivot plates. Then went thru my bugbuckets of bits from customers bin diving and found a large chain pin side plate with both pins still insitu.Again cut in half will become my plug into midrail chassis. Then a 1" tube to weld around the chain pin. Also found some 16mm S/S bolts with washers and SS locknut.. Only had to drill out the plate hole to 16mm to match. I've eventually found an interlocking tube joint in Aus for around $55 yee har! For the other end

Well again for the sake of forum content, here's an update. Changed the 250 yoke to a Pilot yoke. Here's why. The brakes on a Revolt are as useful as tits on a Bull ,using an ashtray on a motorbike. So by installing the Pilot's yoke it has seperate front rear brakes. Plus I'm used to the thumb throttle. The Revolts are well known for pisspoor brakes. So now just the Pilot's rear are better than the Revolts all 4 off the foot pedal. Combined with the fronts I can actually stop now...bliss! Plus I also re whited the fascia words. Had a white paint touch-up pen I wanted to try and it worked ok. It's the push nib type that flows paint when nib is pushed then wipe away the unwanted outer. Turned out ok. Forget to take proper before pics but I can tell you had zero white on the letters.

It was all tested last weekend at the Sandpit and all went well. Also my mate tried his birthday pressie of a portable steel slotted barbie thingy with his Jackeroo car laser cut into the sides.Very impressive at night with the fire going. So now I'm thinkin of gettin one made with a Pilot or Revolt laser cut into the sides?

So after removing the Draks Pilot yoke for the NytroRevolt I installed the 250 Odyssey yoke into the Drak. Then added the foot brake which left the 250 Odys hand brake lever unused. So I drilled out the throttle lever to axially line up with the brake lever cable spud hole. Then insert a bolt and nuts to make both as throttle levers.Handy when your right fingers need a rest or when you need to grab a brewski? Also had to make a longer than std double banjo bolt because only std length was available. So lucky to find correct bolt in shed and drill centre shaft hole and both oil holes.Used the new square edge of grinding disc to shallow down for the 2 oil banjo inlets. Also made a new throttle cable from the Sled 1:2 junction box to throttle finger lever. The local bike shop had a wire cable with the small tiny round spud (not the larger barrel type) that fitted perfectly into the 1:2 cable converter. Then used a new knarf with end grub screw to fit into the yokes throttle cable lever.

Drak brakes all bled yesterday and now have good firm pedal. Then onto making up the brake line stays from heavy duty cable ties and 20mm of plastic tube.

The oem 250 finger throttle lever is just too short and hard to pull the Doos 600 twin carbs. So I pinched the brake lever from an ol mountain bike for better leverage. I used the 250s brake splined shaft to force/form the splines needed.Drilled a tight hole just enough to tap thru the splined shaft and make the internal splines.Practiced the hit on some scrap alu plate. Works good but won't know for sure till testing at the Sandpit. Will most prob need to redrill the pivot shaft hole go easier grab distance..

Looking forward to the throttle ride report, I gave up on mine due to leverage issues and went with foot throttle. |
