Mudbogger sent me the Engine out of the TurboTexas Pilot he bought the compression was down to like 130 psi ? so he wanted the Engine inspected to see why.

After about an hr in the shop sink with a tooth brush and Dawn dish soap the Engine is clean, it had been leaking spooge out the exhaust badly, the Engine came without the metal ring on the exhaust flange and no signs of silicone sealer on the flange I can see why it was leaking.

Their is signs that the bottom end has been rebuilt before you can see the newer green gaskets and some gasket sealer on the crank case gaskets.

Their is also some sort of red loc tite stuff on the nut that holds the starter basket on.

Head off someone used gasket sealer on the head gasket this is normally not required.

You can see the rings never properly seated not sure why the wear is so low in the cylinder need to hone it with my ridged stone hone and see if the cylinder is straight

Its a 1.5mm over Wiseco piston

No clue what kind of oil he use but the residue left behind was kinda brown and looks red in the pics because if the flash almost looks like rust but its not the flash does silly things sometimes.

The cylinder bore is not straight I suspect who ever performed the hone on this cylinder at the last rebuild used some sort of spring loaded or flex hone it just followed the crooked bore so the rings were trying to seat on uneven surface take 1/2 season of wear to make them seat if even then, by time they seated all the blow by would corrupt ring grooves.

Here are some pics of a lite hone with the proper ridged hone you can see the uneven areas.

No doubt the shop that did the hone will tell you a flex hone is ok, "never had a problem" "been doing it for years" "never had any complaints before" "those expensive hones are over kill" bla bla bla I mean really you didnt see Turbo tearing down his Engine and running it back to who ever flex honed this cylinder did you, why then would they spend 500 bux on a hone when they can spend 60 bux and pacify Turbo and others whilst putting profits into their pockets.... You would have to drag a cylinder like this one into their shop along with the proper hone and give these morons a demonstration before they would understand and refund your money for the botched job they did.

If it was mine I would replace the rings, hone and go.

Get 2 packages of the circlips

http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/a ... 34328.html

I will also replace the clutch side crankshaft seal I have plenty of these in stock they are Honda seals, 9 bux each.

Optional gasket kit no clue whats better or if this brand is worth the extra?

Hoser parts ordered will ship direct to you via FED EX. I will send the replacement seal to you from my house this week. I ordered everything listed in the thread, they are actually cheaper on the top end kit then buying direct from Wiseco themselves.

Rings and top end gasket kit came fedex today, looks like the cir clips were back ordered they were not checked on the receipt or in the package?

I have the circlips and the clutch side crank seal here so it wont slow progress any.

Enigne has arrived the Mud compound, it is to be installed in the Vroom pilot this weekend!
Vroom Engine to be shipped to Hoser for a complete CSI and rebuild from the ground up, it appears to have been worked on previously but I will have Hoser split the cases and rebuild fresh.

It is indeed Fatcats old Engine, I am planning on putting into my Kawonda project in the near future. I need to get an intake, reed cage, and then air leak test it first. Very good eye though fellas!!!
I do actually have a spare Engine for the triple eee car as well, but it is not pictured.
