Thanks Lee for the clarification a double seal would make sense pressure fluid or air
would allow the seal to perform its duty very well.

So the blue in the pic I attached would be the O ring and the red would be the collar
the O ring goes into and the seal rides on? The pink (look close) would be the grease
you put in the seal before you install?

You could probably just post a pic if that's all you wanted to do but you would have to fool
the program by just typing in a . in the text area to satisfy the program heh

That sheds some light on the subject. With a spring on either side, then sealing should not be an issue either direction it is installed. With that clarified, what is the reason it was installed that way?
