a couple more, hope you like them, all 065 4130, after a couple of redoos I came down to this, now time to turn to the front suspension should be done by this weekend if I can keep it up. I couldnt bring myself to keep the bent stock cage and put a bunch of work into a bent cage and I will feel good letting my son tear up the desert or race track with out worry of cage failure, 065 4130 is about 6 times stronger than the junk metal used by honda and is lite at the same time

Nice work!!! Welds look good - MIG or TIG? I bet it is hard to weld all the way around with the Engine and stuff still in it? Looks awesome.

thank you for the nice words, I mig welded the whole car. faster and easier. I had a different desing on it then we put a seat in it and relized there was no seat room and Chrises head would be smacking the cross bar I had in it. If you look at the Carilina pilot rusty worked on with the cage made by Giser bros that pilot had the same issue, great for a midget but terrible for every one else so I cut some bars out after they were fully welded (oops) and re did some now there is plenty of room inside for anyone and any size. Hasle but only a couple hours rework. and about 75 bucks worth of 4130  It is as easy to get in and out from the side as a regular pilot. I wanted to build that into it because climbing in from the top would not be so fun :-) One nice thing about having the right tools to fab with is how quick it got done, chris came one day bdvore I started the next day he came back it was done :-) I use to use a 4 inch grinder to notch with LOL Not these days notcher makes things so quick its almost like cheating and my 760 burr king and metal cutting Jet band saw makes long fits a breeze!!, good enough to tig if I felt like it!

I have 4 inches of clearance above my helmet on the steel pilot more then enough room. How low is your seat mounted? Mine is below the lower frame bar like the stock seat.

I ment the diagonal bar and seat belt bar rusty Mine was just like it at first,....till we put chris in there There was always a lot of head room but leg room there was not to good before with the diaganal bar was real close to head spliting and with the main cage bars going a bit forward unlike the pilot cage that went backward we had lost leg room. Leg wise it had to be a tight fit for you in that car I would think
