I'm looking at buying a odyssey fl350 and there's one somewhat nearby and i think i'd possibly be able to get it for $3,000 the machine looks mint, the only thing i'm wondering is if it would be better to hold off and try to find one with a liquid cooled head. Is it a big problem overheating on these? I'm from Minnesota and there aren't too many around here for sale, and if there are, there not in very good shape.

thanks,

i havent been looking at the market lately, but 3 grand should buy one hell of a machine. that is a lot of dough for a fl350. over heating was a HUGE issue for these things. a good portion of the riders here have gone as far as full liquid cool systems (liquid cooled head, water pump, etc) some of us also run egt gauges.

$3,000 seems pretty steep for astock rigfor sure get one with a liquid-cooled head or cylinder

Before the economy took the big dive, that's what I paid for the wife's very low mileage Ody.

You could also switch it to a liquid cooled cylinder too? would just having a liquid cooled head be enough? I think i'm going to have a hard time finding one with a liquid cooled head

You can purchase an aftermarket liquid cooled head.

3000 isnt unheard of for custom or super nice orignal ones up here in the midwest. I seriously considered this one but it was 2 states away and didnt want to invest $3200 into one at the time.

Is this one still for sale? does it have a liquid cooled head or just stock?

And on that liquid cooled head on ebay; do you know how much roughly it is for the radiator and everything else you would need?

As far as the cost goes, you can do an ebay search for a Yamaha Banshee radiator. I am running a new Banshee radiator like the one posted here.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/40mm-High-per-o ... b5&vxp=mtr

The only other thing you will need is radiator hose and you can use the thermosiphon principal.

I run a water pump but if have a vertical radiator, you can use the thermosiphon method without a pump.

Looks like they're in the background of the last picture, and they look pretty nice.

I would move quick on that one if you are serious, that looks like an exceptionally nice machine for the price.

I talked to the guy he had 2 like that and i asked how long he had them and he said "a couple weeks" I asked why he was selling and said just to make some money on them. He said they were never restored either. He said he bought them off of craigslist. Something didn't seem quite right, only way i'd buy it if i had someone i could trust check it out first and ship it back. Someone mentioned to me that maybe they were stolen?

Where are you located, I just assumed you were close to this Ody. There are a lot of good people on this board, I would think you could find someone to lay some eyes on it for you, but I wouldn't drag my feet... You can get some great deals if you act quickly, show up with cash in hand and no BS..
I hope it works out for you & good luck..
