I have a fl350 that would only need rings. The problem is the studs that hold the head on are pulling out of the top of the cylinder. Am I going to have to replace the cylinder? Doesn't look like there is allot of extra meat for heli coils.

I wouldn't trust a helicoil for those kind of pressures.

Hmmmmm.....I wonder if there is enough room for a timesert?

Look up what they do to blaster engines
They put cr500 studs in them

There a bigger stud at the bottom
I used a insert for one of my cylinders

My guess is someone over torqued the head nuts and pulled them out of the cylinder I would check to ensure the bore is still round.

Yeah I think the CR500 studs are the next bolt size larger than the 350 stud on the bottom side, side that screws into the cylinder..

Thank all of you for your input. It gives me some ideas. I have nothing to lose by trying something. I will post if I have luck repairing it.

Good point Hoser. If the cylinder isn't round anymore I may as well start looking for one. There is one more bore left and unless it is distorted it doesn't need bored now.
