What fan can I use on my liquid cooled fl350 with no electric issues. I have a banshee aluminum radiator. I did a search in the forum and came across a few topics on it but not a definite answer to which one would be correct. I saw something on amazon but it was an 8 amp fan. I do have headlights and tailight and an honda rpm gage. Way do u guys think?

Do you have a water temp gauge to keep an eye on your coolant temps? A lot of guys don't use a fan with the Banshee radiator and some do, if you had a water temp gauge you could tell if you really need one. I think a good water temp would be like 170 to 180, If your pushing over 180 then the fan would help. 2 to 4 amps wont interfere with the Odysseys electrical system at least I never experienced any issues and was running an extra headlight. I have a spare fan from an 07 KAWASAKI 600 NINJA that I bought because it pulled low amps, I have the the YFZ450 fan and radiator on my CR500 Pilot for extra cooling, Im sure some one will be able to tell you what they use but if you need me to measure current on either one of these fans let me know and I can get to it this weekend. Hope this helps.

When i did my liquid cool conversion, i used a honda goldwing radiator and fan that i found on ebay. That set up works like a champ.
Anyways, i would think any small atv/motorcycle fan would be okay.

Those were the a answers I was looking for. My buddy has a honda 450 r radiator that I was gonna to try. If you can get me the current that it's pulling on that kawasaki radiator that would be huge. It will narrow my searches on wat to look for if the 450 one pulls too much current. Thank you for the help guys.

I've got the YFZ450 rad/fan combo along with the Bosch/Mercedes water pump. I rarely use the fan, but I do use the pump. When they are both running at the same time (plus LED lights), the whole system runs fine. You can hear a very slight change in pitch from the water pump when I flick the fan on, but that's it. But I don't run them both for long simply b/c its not needed. If you are moving, you don't need the fan. Battery has been fine, has not been on a trickler, and I've been starting it a lot since I've had the carb on/off (takes some starter cycles to fill that carb bowl back up).

I was thinking about the water pump but I wanted to try and do it without. I don't really like a lot of clutter with ad ons. I've read good things about it tho. I'll try the easier way first and if it stays hot and I need the pump, I can design something for the pp that looks like it was built to fit it. These are all good options. Keep them coming.

You have a liquid cooled head or is the cylinder also liquid cooled?

The Ninja 600 fan pulls just under 4 amps...

That amperage will work well then. I just have to keep my eye open for that particular fan. The head is water cooled. Not the cylinder.

With just the head if it was mine I would run it without the water pump and use the Banshee radiator, use the thermosyphon method to circulate the coolant the vertical tubes in the banshee radiator work good for this.

Being a gaget and paranoid type I would probably install a electric fan and hook it up to a temp switch so when it reached a certain temp the fan would cycle on and off probably adjustable they make for the automotive industry if not then something adjustable they make for the HVAC industry.

I see no use in running the fan all the time only when needed, it will just depend on how and where you use it, if I was going to run a fan all the time it would be blowing air on the front of my cylinder to simulate air flow over the front of the radiator as if I was running 40 mph.

Cool thing about a adjustable thermostat is you could mount the temp sensing probe about anyplace and just clamped to the coolant line your not forced to make another cut in into your coolant loop adding complexity to the system then just adjust the thermostat to cycle on and off based on your installation location.

I really like that idea a lot hoser. I may go that route. I like the fact that it will not stay on all the time. I have to search for the fan like stix recommended and the thermostat that you recommended. Can't wait to try this method out. But I have one question. Do I have to mount the radiator on an angle on the back roll bar or could I put it right behind the head net straight up and down. I don't know if I want the radiator exposed on the back only because I want some kind of safety precaution. It's hot so you never know who is goin to accidentally touch it.

What do you think about this switch. Looks like I can put it right in the coolant line in top of the radiator. on the banshee radiator there is a third outlet that's about 1/4 inch big. It feeds the top of the head on the banshee. Maybe it will work, maybe not. Not sure how the thermosiphon works. What do you think?

I didnt like the radiator mounted on the angled roll bar either, didnt want it to get damaged from a roll over. I also didnt really like putting right behind my head (in case it leaked) so I mounted it about 8 inches back. Here are some pics I pulled from this site, I couldnt find anymore because they were lost in the hack a while back. The last pic shows where I mounted the water temp gauge.

that's not a bad setup at all. real clean looking. except my radiator has a different shape so i won't be able to mount it like that. that actually looks like it was from the factory.
