If you have the ATV Racing body skid plate then your losing 2 inches of ground clearance. The only reason I can think of that they would design it this way is to allow for a sorry design they have for mounting the Beard seat. The rear of the seat dips down lower than the frame. The ATV Racing Beard seat mounting kit they installed has the seat lowered TOO MUCH in the rear so instead of fixing that problem they just formed the skid plate around it and therefore losing 2 inches ground clearance.I added some aluminum spacers to raise the back seat an inch or two, also left room for the seat to "suspend and compress". Looks great! Is that aluminum you used for the piece to raise the back of the seat? If so do you think steel would be stronger? I would hate for the aluminum to rip apart in a violent crash.

The aluminum is just under 1/8".
