The carburetor on my FL350 requires a rebuild, instead of going after non-existent or questionable aftermarket parts, would it make sense to install a new Mikuni carb instead will have parts available for a good long time?

Can anyone confirm that the Mikuni offered by After-Shock for $169 is plug & play? Is the jetting ready to go?

I highly doubt any carb you are going to buy is going to be plug and play.
You are going to have to jet it yourself. We can help here.
I can tell you what jetting I am running if it helps but remember each Engine has different mods.
That requires slightly different jetting. Also how high (altitude) do you drive ??
I don't like aftersucks. My brother bought a rubber flange mount for his aftermarket Mikuni off of them. It was all wrong and it leaked. We tried silicone on it as well and it didn't help. It's a long story.
Just remember that they mark up the stuff real fat. See if the local auto supply shop can get you one. You might be surprised as it will come to your town for the same price and keep the money local.
Why not just rebuild yours and give it a try. Probably the cheaper option by far. Any motorcycle shop should be able to get you parts for your carb.

Whats wrong with your current carb? I seldom run into a OEM carb that needs a "kit" the parts don't wear out once since I started wrenching on cycles and ATV's back in 1970 I found a bad needle in a jap carb, the rubber tip was damaged, their is one part in the FL250 carb that wears out your talking a FL350.

I would not buy anything from that idiot first of all all he is going to do is drop ship you a carb he does not stock parts he really is not a business like you might think he is a guy selling stuff on a website in his basement he has no store front, don't be FOOLED by his crafty wording on his website that creates illusions that are just not true like the strong use of the word "we" means him and his wife.

I would only use a Kehin on my ATV's unless they came with a Mukni from the factory the Kehin carb you can still use the cable choke, with a Mikuni carb your going to need a "kit" at a extra cost to adapt your choke to their carb.

main jet
needle jet (emulsion tube)
jet needle
float valve
plus the gaskets

I was under the impression from posters on this forum that parts are difficult to source and that aftermarket parts weren't reliable hence the reason to go for a replacement carb.

Right on IMO stay away from any replacement parts including any "kits" unless they are genuine parts.

What happen to all your old stuff?

You looking to just replace the stock carb or you looking for some performance improvement while your changing the carb, the 350 gurus can advise you on going bigger, probably give you a baseline jetting starting point and give you all the installing advice and how to's you will need.

Try the local motorcycle shop first. They should be able to get the stuff.
Then like Hoser said try Sudco or carbparts.
I have Mikuni's on both our machines. One was able to use the stock choke cable, the other not.
Went with Mikuni because we wanted larger carbs but no other reason. They all work.

The buggy is for my kids so it's going to remain stock. If the 32mm Mikuni replacement carb works for $169... It would be a convenient bargain IMHO.

It appears that Sudco doesn't even carry parts for the PE 32mm carb.

What are the challenges of installing a Keihin PWK 35 apart from jetting?

I think the PWK comes with a manual choke doesn't it ??
So you won't be using the choke cable between your legs (insert jokes here).
Other than that I am not sure if there will be any issues other than jetting.
Still think you could re&re the stock one and it would be a lot cheaper.

PWK comes with a manual choke, you unscrew the manual choke from the carb body then screw in the cable choke setup from the stock carb right into the PWK body, takes 2 minutes and you have your cable choke, cost you nothing to adapt it over to the new carb, the bonus is you can take the new manual choke valve assembly and sell it on Evilbay for 15-20 bux and recoup some money on your new carb. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=PWK ... mfe=search

I been waiting for the 350 gurus to chime in on installing the carbs and to give their thoughts on upgrading the carb on a FL350, I have never done it before on the 350 so don't know the intimate details like I do on the Pilot.
