atcdude123 your reply was all emotional driven and not based on any facts to support anything you have said its all assumptions, their are millions of replies and comments like yours all over the web I was looking for more factual data like exactly what happen the last time minimum wage was raised I ask for factual data because sometimes what seems like common sense to you and me what will happen does not necessarily happen in real life .
So if your armed without facts I guess the thing to do is drive by where they are having a informational picket and yell "go get a real job" to those who cant find employment elsewhere?
I think a lot of these stepping stone jobs has turned into career jobs for many simply because of the times, lack of jobs after the crash of 2008 has stalled many from improving their lives and moving on to something better, this lingering in the low pay zone is forcing many to seek more pay any way they can, look at ALL the new jobs that's been created in the past 10 years just a bunch of low paying jobs with no benefits then you get some loser like noboma on the news bragging about the "new jobs" that's been created.
I try to avoid eating out when ever I can simply because of the low quality of the food, long lost is things like texture and seasoning that is suppose to bring out the true flavor in the food your eating.
For example look at any toasted bun, it looks toasted but they might as well have air brushed on that toasted look because the bun is just a bunch of mush and air, their is no crust on the bun the only reason to toast one is to firm it up give it more texture, look at the bun if you take just the bun and push down on it with your hand its about 3 layers of paper thick their is no more texture in the bun its like they have developed a bun like bubble packing material remove the air their is nothing their.
Disassemble a regular burger, order it with nothing on it, the bun does not taste like buns when I was growing up the flavor is gone, taste the meat not sure how you cook any cheap meat and can get that taste, I have had some good burgers done on a flat top at a non fast food place that taste like the old days, mcdonalds might as well microwave or boil their burgers, burger king is slightly better but does not have the flavor they had 20 years ago.
That being said so how many MILLIONS of dollars will raising the minimum wage put back into the economy the first check after it becomes law? Someone knows these numbers it has happen before, they can tell you almost to the dollar how much money would be brought in when they legalize gambling or legalize new intoxicants but have no numbers for giving someone a simple raise hmmm
I know business owners has had TRILLIONS of dollars they are not spending on hold for what 10 years now so you can throw away that excuse, the Walton kids make how many BILLIONS of dollars after tax profit each year cant tell me their bottom line is hurting if it was they would have only been making MILLIONS in profits all these years, want to play the stock holders cards as your excuse then maybe these companies should just be employee owned so your not a slave to stock holders.
What about all these business owners who has TRILLIONS of dollars they have funneled out of the USA to avoid paying taxes the IRS and others is working overtime trying to catch these people.
How many TRILLIONS of dollars has the USA spent protecting all these multinational companies with interest in areas of the world that need protecting not to mention all the LIVES that has been lost protecting these same business interest.
