Why metal gasket for the intake manifold?

My vote would be copper because you can anneal it (makes it soft again) and reuse the gasket about 10 times before it stretches and gets all out of spec.

I concur with atcdude 123. I had a base gasket made by these guys http://www.coppergaskets.us/ for an FL350 which was .060" thick and it worked out perfect.
