Really nice work. Do you still have any or these left> one of mine still works but is ratty as can be. Looks like you are a step away from making a FL350 Caliper, With these machining skills you have. I would think a version without the E brake would be easy and land you some dough too.

Hello All
Got some Bad news on the pilot rear brake bracket I got the info from pilotnut(( thank you for the info))

1st When he try to install the 6061 and the 7075 aluminum bracket it hit a web on the transmission

2nd 6061 / 7075 / custom steel I found that the disk on the pilot is thicker then the fl350. So there is less
clearance on each side of the disk then the stock bracket . ((It will fit but it has less clearance on each side of disk.))

so the people that purchased a brake bracket for a pilot please PM me so I can fix this problem for you

Sorry for the inconvenience

Thank you SpeedChaser

Thank you Jeff for taking the time and effort to solve a HUGE problem for the POOA community (that of parts becomming discontinued by Honda).

Also - I want to commend Jeff on doing everything possible to address and correct the issue I had with the bracket as quickly as possible.

Someone who firmly stands behind his products and provides exceptional customer service is someone who should be recognized as it seems harder and harder to find these days.

Pnut

Pardon my ignorance here but this is an old thread (2008) that keeps getting revived year after year as you can tell by the posting dates. My question is obviously people need these and someone here (speedchaser) is obviously talented enough and willing to provide them, but what am I missing. Why do you need them ?? How the hell do you bust them ?? Do they wear out ?? I am confused.

Yes they wear out in the sliding pin areas, plus in the brake rotor slot.
I've had 2 calipers where a hole was worn right thru between the rotor slot and sliding pin.
Depending on your riding ground conditions, sand, rocks, general crap get ground into that slot area/notch and eventually wear thru to the sliding pin hole.
Then the crap enters the pin hole and wears that out too! Aaarggh!
A better way of shielding/protecting that area needs to be addressed.
I fixed up one calliper by rolling my own bush around a suitably sized drill bit shank, from a thin polished sheet of stainless steel.
The SS sheet was just scrap from a kitchen flue, worked perfectly, but everytime I've tried to fix/fill the rotor slot hole,it does'nt last long.
I have lots of pics of it in my threads, maybe the FL800/AC550pilot thread? I'll look.
