I have been doing some home work on a suitable company to
carry out a re bore in Oz

A lot the local bike shops have there own back yarder to do there re bores

But I found a common pace from the better bike shops but it means sending the barrel and
a piston to Queensland

The Company is

http://www.serco.com.au

They quoted me $105.00AU Plus return postage
so I am going to send my original .25 over size barrel and
have the bore and fit a .50 over piston
So will box it up and send next week.

I take it you found some issues with a broken ring or some scoring?

Hi Ya Yeoddy,

The Guy i use down in Victoria can make a sleeve and fit it for you. He makes the sleeve himself on a lathe from some special type of cast iron and then lays the port map over the sleeve and cuts the ports out.

He use to make my 86mm bore FL 350 cylinders and he makes the sleeve a bit thicker to so you can get more rebores, if there are pistons available to suit that size. I was using Maico 490 Mahle pistons which had to be modified to suit.

He is the only guy i trust my machine/ Engine work to, i have no idea now on cost though. He did my 700 cylinders last year, cut the nikasil out and fitted sleeves.

Just food for thought.

Cheers
Dave
