Guys,
I am in the need for a replacement Joint, Inboard for the left axle. The joint fused with the axle and am not able to separate them with out damaging the axle. Does anybody make parts for the axle or has any body the joint from the left axle that connects to the transmission?

Thanks,

Yes, the right axle came out with out a problem. I toke the transmission out and was able to push through from the right side and press on the left joint with my Shop press but 8 Ton of pressure did not do a thing. I am going to try to cut the axle of so I can take the transmission apart. If this is possible then I can put the shaft in the lathe and drill a hole and machine as close as possible to the splines and hopefully I can at reuse the shaft.

I am not sure I understand exactly what parts your trying to disassemble here, can you can you take some pics, if you have the axle out of the trans the rest of it should almost fall apart nothing should be fused together.

You see these 3 maybe something in the pics you can point me to

Your second link picture MVC-681F.JPG. The joint does not move at all. Like I said 8 Ton of pressure does nothing.

So you cant get the stub shaft out of the final shaft of the transmission?

They can be a bitch as you can see by reading all my links, you soak it with PB blaster that stuff is good stuff but sometimes it takes a while for it too work.

Do you need to change the seal on the trans is why you want it out? If you don't need to remove that from the trans I would not bother to remove it.

I don't normally advocate the use of caveman tools for anything but their is always a exception to the rule this is one of them, be warned using a hammer will damage something using your head you can minimize that damage, if you beat on it or press on it your putting loads on the bearing it was not design to have applied the final shaft bearings inside the trans need to be replaced once you get it apart most likely they will fail sometime after putting 8 tons of pressure from the inner race through the balls to the outer race,.

I think better than a press you need to first soak it with PB blaster then take a large round rod that just fits inside the final shaft to use a punch to push out the other stub shaft you want it large so it stays straight and perpendicular to the stub shaft your trying to remove, if you use something smaller then if its slightly angled you loose most of the force your trying to apply, beat it with a big hammer, 2 pounder shock loads will work better than a steady pressure in a press you read the part in my 800 reasons on stubborn shaft removal ?
