I know these things have been discussed for years and years but I am curious what the modern day people think. Those of you who are still in the community today might have different thoughts than the posts I'm reading from 2006.

1) Best oil for gearbox on both 350 and 400

2) Best belt in terms of durability for 350 and 400 that is currently obtainable

Thanks

1. Redline heavyweight shock proof gear oil

2. Either Honda, Tuff belt. Otherwise bring a spare cheap belt along with you.

Good for both 350/400 gearboxes?

Any chance you know the PN's for 350/400 Tuff Belts?

Actually, searching around online I can't even find any belts with the name "Tuff" in it?

I’m currently using these ultimax belts and have had good luck with them. You can find them for less with some searching g

I will go with the Ultimax belts, and carry the old ones as spares.

Thanks for the info.

Yes you can use the redline oil in any of the 350/400 stuff. Even in the crank/balance shaft area areas. It’s very good for gears and bearings.

I believe Ultimax has a good warranty also be sure to keep the receipt, watched a video for break in, they sat it doesn't mater if you drive it 2 miles or 100, just put a heat cycle on it before you start abusing it, it said get it up to around 120C and let it cool, man that seems pretty hot to me but I have never checked on the belt temps myself.
