I am going to sell my 89 Pilot. Its not a beauty queen. Its got scars and some cracked plastic but the plastic is all there. You will not be afraid to take this machine out and have fun with it. The chassis itself is stock all round but the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) has a port job on it and the machine comes with two pipes. A hi rev pipe and a torque pipe. (The high rev pipe had cracked due to the balancer being in wrong but I have corrected the balancer issue. Hoser had fixed the pipe for me. I did have it touched up again where it cracked in a different area which led me to inspect the balancer after seeing other Pilots motors at Silver lake that did not shake anywhere like my motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) did. The place that did my motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) somehow got this timing off. ((Thanx PCP!!!)) It has a 41mm flatslide Mikuni carb with the powerjet system (You can change top end jets in under two minutes from the top backside of the carb. Not as nice as "Dial a jet" but still far better than having to yank the carb off. Has reeds and a reed spacer (The reed spacer was more to allow the 41mm carbs float bowl to clear the starter without rubbing). There is also a CR250 intake manifold that makes inserting the larger carb many times easier than stock (Thanx Hoser! for the line on this manifold.)

It also has a Comet 102 drive clutch on it. The silver tube you see in the pics is due to the fact that the machine has a four inch hole in the airbox lid for breathing. When open straight up a lot of sand would end up in there. The tube cut this amount down considerably. I am asking $4700.00 for ALL my pilot stuff. That includes that machine. Two spare ported cylinders. (one has NEVER had a fire in it) Pistons for these spare cylinders. Heads for all the cylinders and a spare stock head that's unmolested (it looks nearly like new) for a total of four heads. The (stockish) dirt tires and a set of sand paddles for the rear (no front sand tires available(from me anyways)) It also includes a Honda Service manual and a bunch of spare top end gaskets and a new spare aircleaner. I also have a spare rear suspension rod and a few other misc parts. I will sell JUST the Pilot without the spare parts for $4000.00 (that's no extra pipe, no sand paddles, no spare cylinders/pistons/heads etc. We can work our way towards a center point if you only wanted some of the extra parts.

I live near the Silver Lake sand dunes in Michigan (North of Muskegon about 25 miles) A person can come to my house or I can meet them in the sand dunes or I can take them out into the dunes in my truck to try it there.
I am looking to sell this as I wish to buy a newer (to me) and better transportation car. I "may" be interested in a partial trade for a fat tired street legal motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) bike or a certain kind of recumbent (recumbant?) bike or trike (I want a full recumbent) Contact me if your interested. Thanx Bill 231-742-2273 or email nutz4sand@aol.com

I can take any pics a person wants. Just ask. Thanx!

Yah I was actually thinking of that when I wrote it but as I was trying to remember everything about it I was also having issues with the pictures and did not get back to it. Hoser recut the heads for me (Thanx again Hoser) as PCP the place I had some work done had milled to much off and the compression was far to high (just over 200 PSI.) The heads are now good for about 155 to 160 PSI (depending on which head and cylinder you use) AND there is the stock head I got that's NEVER been cut (the fourth head) After Hoser cut them not only was the comp where it needed to be for pump gas the Squish areas are also where they need to be and it functions like it should. Thanx Bill

I have always liked the three wheelers but at this time I am seeking money to help fund a new vehicle purchase. I may be going west in the fall and need a reliable smaller good on gas vehicle to go. I am seeking a minivan of the Chevy, Venture/Pontiac Montana type. I might consider a good condition Windstar. I would love to have stow and go seating but I aint real fond of Chrysler stuff (drivetrain) But would look at a deal. I am also looking at Honda and Toyota minivans also. I might consider some kinda trade for such a vehicle but I would almost prefer to have some loot and go shopping. But if a good unit was to be had anythings possible. Thanx Bill

I might consider a larger van but it would have to be at least fair on fuel. My uncles 3/4 ton ford with a 300 FI six and overdrive would do better than 17mpg. But a 25 mpg mini van would be my first choice.

FYI-steer clear of older windstars,i have a 1996,lots of problems with it.They were known for blowing head gaskets, even ford knew about it,and did nothing about it for years. It also has electrical gremlins that will drive you insane.Unfortunately i did my research after we bought it.DUH!

I am hoping to get at least a 2000 or newer minivan and I used to be a chevy guy but all I have now is fords simply cause I ran into OK deals on what I got. From the people I talk to at gas stations say the Chevy Ventures get better mileage than the Ford Windstars. Just have to see what I can find once the time comes. I am not so much brand peculier as wanting one that gets me there. I like the stow and go Idea but hate chrysler for the most part. I also note that I see more chryslers on the side of the road. Could be coincidence..... Toyota and Honda make some nice ones but they are usually a lot more loot.

The frame is ok. Few scrapes on the bottom but don't they all. The two rear tubes are dented at the bottom but notthing that comprmises it (no rear bumper. I always meant to make one.) The entire machine is not a perfect garage queen (thus the price) but its a Pilot where a Pilot needs to be one. The emergency brake is the only thing that I can think that does not work (cable is froze and the caliper at the back where it holds the cable is broke. I never felt a need for it nor have I ever needed it.) The choke cable is also disconnected because the carb is not stock (its the 41mm Mikuni flatslide) so you gotta grab the choke right on the carb. No biggie scince I always start it to warm it up from the outside usually. Thanx Bill

I bought my wife the 05 Dodge with the stow and go seating. We have had several Dodge/Chrysler minivans and all worked great for us. Zero problems with the new one, 25 MPG average, higher if you baby it, and very comfortable seat on long rides. I took it to LA a couple of years back with the atc250R in the back. I even brought a cot, slept in the back and watched DVD movies before bed.

If a person asks I will take as many pics of whatever they ask me to. Be very specific if you want very specific and I will snap them for anyone who wishes.

So in respect what detail do you wish to see a pic or two or five of??

I can post a flood of pics if wanted or just one point of interest. Thanx Bill

Just as a "in case" I might consider a partial trade for this machine for a 900cc or larger street bike motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) that I can see run. (can be chain or shaft drive.) (preferable still in its bike frame) Case rash on the side would be OK. Its for a minibuggie I am looking at making. I would also be interested in a Yamaha (or other) four stroke sled motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) in a wrecked sled. Thanx Bill
