Does anyone know the drive clutch bolt size for the 350? I just bought a 94c to replace my worn out stocker. Removing the old one wasn't too bad but I think the engagement threads got rounded over a bit in the process and the new bolt doesn't want to go in straight. I'm going to get a tap to clean it up a bit but I can't get the size. Thanks.

12mm x 1.25

but if you take your old bolt and grind off the bad threads and then flute it with (one) flute like a tap
then you should chase it with that

speed

Speed, thanks for the reply. I just brought it down to the machine shop here at work and their thread gages said it was 1/2" x 20, which I thought was strange everything else on the damn thing is metric! Is the standard 20 thread pretty synonomous with the metric 1.25 thread? I have 1/2" x 20 tap that they gave me and it lines up excellent with the thread on the bolt. Do you think it would be okay to use?

NO don't

they are different

it my look close but when you get out past 1" you will see the different

12mm = .4724 witch is smaller the 1/2 = .500 witch will open the hole to big

thanks speedchaser

I bought a comet clutch a while back and the bolt that was sent with it was the wrong thread. So check to see if your old stock bolt will still thread in and compare the new and the old. You might have a bolt with the wrong threads also

12mm X 1.25 Tap from McMaster is $24. Part Number 2671A85.

... They have a hand tap for $16 but the more expensive spiral point tap is well worth the extra.

I appreciate all of the info guys. It turns out shoubadaba was right on, the bolt sent with the comet clutch was a different size (1/2" x 20). I followed speeds advice, cut down the old bolt and used it to clean the threads. Worked like a charm, thanks again!

Glad to here you got it worked out. Got to watch those aftermarket bolts. Ite easier to get a new bolt then replace the crossthreaded crank
