Whe I bought this 250 the pull start housing was off and one of the mounts (bottom one) was broke completely off. So I welded a filler, re shaped it and drilled & tapped it and ordered a new pull start assembly. Now a few years later and the thing rattled loose and cracked the flange on the assembly ruining the pull start assembly. Do I get a new one or do I get the push button start? It seems they left the money out of this part. By the way, my fixed mount with the threaded hole held up and the flange had no wear in that spot. I thought about welding the old assembly but it is cheap tin and is fatigued so not good.

if you decide to get another pull start there is or was reinforment ring that goes around the pullstart housing and your bolts go thru it then the pullstart into the case. Seems to help both of mine.

the electric start would be nice to

I have a extra housing you can have if you want. Need to get the grime out... I was actually gonna dump it today.

The innards are all gone though. I also have some other parts you can have if you want (belt covers, headlight (cracked shell, but inside is good), probably some other crap in the bin.

Twilight - if you still have the housing with no damage, Ill take it.
I wouldn't mind milling out some sort of ring thing like you have OMO.
