I've been trying to keep an eye out on eGay but haven't had much luck. My local dealer said they could get these rings (surprisingly).....but as I soon found out they actually couldn't.

That being said I'm on the lookout for a set of rings to get this thing going. Hoping maybe somebody here would have a set that they didn't end up using.

Thanks,

JP

Well I guess I should share some info . First let me say I have not tested this or ran the combo.
Story time first. Stix and I was talking one day about this same thing. I had a brain fart and said knowing honda and how they like to keep things the same I said for the fun of it let put a set of pilot rings on the 350 arts piston. The Brain fart test was on an older bore so the number were kinda hard to interpolate by I came up the conclusion that they ______. I said ( to stixs) lets just look at the part numbers.

First look at the part # UM

350: 13012-VM0-305 RING SET, PISTON (0.25)
400: 13012-HE0-305 RING SET (OS) (0.25)

Let's see does wiesco use the same ring for the 350 and 400 ?
350: 3150TD - 80.00 MM RING SET
400: 3150TD - 80.00 MM RING SET

See where Im going, VMO/HEO, I see a pattern

Ok not to keep you quessing. They _______ I still need to so some number crunching before test was warrented but dry fit gaps and Other factor told me to go ahead and test. The test would have been done firs to bore/hone the cylinder tight to the new piston.

CAUTION,

The 350 piston is to be measured at 20mm from the skirt and the pilot 10 mm from the skirt for sizing according tp the book. Well me being me I measure up the hole thing then go from there for piston fitting. After determining the minium clearence ect.,bla,bla,bla. I would bore and hone to that number.

I then would set the rings in and check gap log number and do some math to deterine if it was plosable to proceed.

I did factore in the piston land pins ( rings, locking pins) and Stixs and I measured the taper, depth and dia. and siad why not. We fitted a set of older 400 .25 rings into the new .25 arts Domed ( not flat top) piston and looked good.

The next step is to get my hands on a new set both for VMO and HEO and compare. Sad news here stix sold his 350s.

So who going to find out for sure. The prelimbanry data shows they will work. This will allow the 350 guys running arts chang rings sooner and get more time out of the pistons and yes keep it fresh and fast.

"H" being "H" he has alrredy done work and knows the anaswer.

Any way thought I would share What Stixs and I was thinking of. If some one wants to run with it, here is some pics.

It would not surprise me if the 350 and Pilot rings were the same for each bore size on the OEM pistons their is really no reason why they would be different is their? You measure the grooves in the piston and measure the depth of the rings as they would fit into the grooves of the piston?

Hey "H" , if they work, I'm not 100% sure yet. Have some concerns and want to be cautious telling other to do it. Discuss more in other topic location.

I would be willing to "take one for the team" If Hoser wouldn't mind!
I am Buying a jug and art piston from Styx... And I already have a set of rings for the .25 over I stumbled upon on Fleabay... So I would buy the pilot rings and when hoser puts my 350 motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) back together we could have him look over everything and decide if it's worth the effort... And of course ya'll have seen how much testing it would get!

I would want to hang on to the 350 rings until Hoser can side by side them and make a decision... I hope I didn't get your hopes up... Keep scouring e bay... I just stumbled across them one day...

I've been keeping a keen eye out.... I'm definitely not new to the hassles of finding parts for "quality aged" machines. hehe

I desperately need a set for my FL350. How much would you be willing to part with them for?

Well, me and stix thought that the set he had was .25 over set of rings, but after further inspection they measure 79.5mm compressed and overlap when placed in my cylinder. So my guess is that they are .50 rings. No big deal, cause I figure I will need them eventually! What this does mean though, is that I'm still on the lookout for a set of .25 over STD bore rings for my Oddy. If I can get a set of Pilot rings from Honda or somewhere else I may just give those a shot! Thanks for ya'lls help.
