Yeah, my wife called after I met up with you... She gave me some trauma about her job calling her in, our daughter, no sitter, etc. At that point I was already aggravated that no other Pilots had shown-up. Plus, the course looked lousy. I was pissed because the Elsinore GP used to be the best race of the year before it moved to the MX park. The call from my wife put me over the edge... I was planning to hang it up for good. A few weeks later both of my Pilots went up for sale. Thankfully, nobody wanted to buy the LT... LOL. I think I've managed to get my head together since then. ;-)

It sounds like there's gonna be a good turn-out for Soboba. I hope you can make it. Except for the speed bumps, the course was super fun last year.

There were no tech requirements last year....

Last year the race was 1 hour. So, I refueled. I've done 45 minute GPs without refueling.

See ya there.

What is the track like? High speed, tight, big air jumps? I have a fl350 and might run the race, but I don't like big air jumps in that thing, doesn't have the suspension for it (still j-arm front, but I do have different shocks, rear is an all stock BOUNCE monster!)

Might do the race if I get the top end done in time

Last year it was maybe 50/50 natural terrain and man-made stuff... nothing too tough. A short patch of big woops slowed me way down. There were a couple of nasty looking doubles but... I just rolled 'em. The first 1/2 of the course reminded me of riding at Gorman... a wash area, up and down a few hills, a canyon... not a lot of space to pass. The 2nd 1/2 of the course wound back and forth thru a flat field. Smaller man-made jumps were scattered throughout... You could easily roll 'em or take 'em at half speed. Most of the flat area was wide, easy to pass, WOT (Wide Open Throttle) riding.

Last year MrClean was doing freestyle in this one section right after the start...heard he pulled off the famous double front flip...could be a rumor....or maybe a myth....

The track is really fun though...Man I gotta get something runnin...

Ya... I flipped it on what I thought was a small jump but turned out to be more like an overgrown speed bump. Thankfully I landed on the rubber... the Engine was still running... out of nowhere someone handed me my goggles which had flown off... and off I went... spooking a few spectators who were off the course but in my way none the less. :-) On the very next jump I discoverd, painfuly, that my google were full packed of dirt.... fun times.

There were a couple of those oddball "speed bumps" on that course. I've never seen anything like 'em on any other track... I guess I should expect that kind of thing on a "homegrown" GP course.

Well, seeing as how the race is next weekend and I still do not have my motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) done, I most likely will not be attending the race. :-( The track sounds like a ton of fun. I might come down and watch, but then again, if I do the whole time I will just be steaming about not racing. Crap.

Well, it looks like I will be in a pilot for the race. I haven't raced in a while so I can't wait to get out there!

You're gonna drive Tim's Pilot? You'll have to pit with that small gas tank... That might be my only chance to finish ahead of you! :-)

Lets hope the rain doesn't come down for too long or too hard between now and Sunday.

What a mud fest!
Rained all day, raced with Rhino's. DEEP mud, near 0 visibility. So muddy the UTV's were even getting stuck.
Results
Jerry Byerman - WON - finished all the laps (5 I think). It was a hard race, and on hand controls had to be an incredible task.
Blue Coyote - 2nd - Made it 2 full laps before the race was stopped, and was in 2nd overall. Race was stopped due to course cutting and track issues, and scoring could not see the number plates. After the restart on lap 3 the UTV's got the run in the mud, and with so many UTVs to dodge I got totally drenched in mud and water, so much that the belt started slipping and blew up about 1/4 lap later.
Dan - conflicting reports - but think he had a motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) issue.

Congrats to Jerry for a well deserved win!
