Well after spending the last few days rewelding my Engine bracket, I finally got everything back together again in time for the First Whiplash race of the year!
First of I want to say a big THANK YOU to Slickrick for comeing out on his days off last week to help me tear this down so Jay at Desert Dog Off Road could put it back together again! Seems I did such a great job welding the plate to the tube, but the dumbash that started this conversion used some very thin walled tubing...Thus it cracked in a few places!!!
The Race!!! WHat a blast this was! A Grand Prix style race mixing up a little bit of Motocross track, a lot of tight technical desert terrain, a little bit of short course and finished it off with 4 long streches of desert straight-a-ways! All in about a 4.5 mile lap!!!
The MX section was hte scariest for me as I had never jumped a buggy on this type of track... I have a feeling after tomorrows race I will have a better grip on these jumps...
The tight section that followed this was just full of big rocks... Being the last event all the quads had tore the course up and had boulders spread out everywhere... Some of the turns had some gotcha's that were tough in the buggy, track was set up for quads so I just plowed thru as fast as I could without draging any suspension parts off...After these sweeping turns that were set up on a side of a hill came my favorite... a long section of whoops that led to a rough bit of g-outs... One so rough it knocked my carb clean out of the intake boot!!! YIKES!!!! I got off the course as far and as quick as I could and unstrapped ad looked around to see what had happened!!! I just lost power, at the exact moment I landed hard... I thought maybe I had broken the pipe... No the POWER PRO'S pipe held up great!!! looking closer we found that one of the carbs had pulled out of the intake so after we found a screwdriver and got them plugged back in, back inside I climbed!!! I was in Such a hurry I forgot to put my glasses back on after my helmet!!! I got 20 yards past everyone before It dawned on me.... So I just gased it, and stopped at the next check station and had a guy stick his head in the floorboard  and found them!
By now I had seen everyone pass me, and even the guy right behind me earlier too.... DANG it I got lapped... so I just then crossed my fingers and hoped to finish...and that the rest of the field would have some bad luck too!!! :-)
They did... one guy suffered a flat tire, one stalled his motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) and couldn't restar and I aint sure about the rest...
I will say I PASSED a R1 built rhino with a 30 second head start on me within the first lap... He was in the pro-mod class! I also beat him on total time by 15 seconds... I will post lap times tomorrow if I can, and some pic's from the phone

Damage report so far... left front rim... BAD kink in it!!! Thanks Brooks for having the sence to put innertubes in these tires...
Tranny leaks real bad... I might leave it with Desert Dog Off Road and have him replace all the seals while I get back to Texas and go back to work...
I need to do a compression test in the morning to see if I tore up the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) by loosin the carb... hopefully not since nothing had any velocity to get past the reeds... work on secureing the carbs to motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? ))...
I am looking for 12" spun wheels with a 4/4" wheel hole pattern... These are from a polaris or a golf cart if any one has some laying around... I think these will be the cheapest option and then I can have some rim gaurds welded on to both sides to prevent damage... I doubt I will ever require dot tires at any races, so I will strat looking for utv tires...
first choice for the rear is a maxxis ceris... in a 15 inch so I wont have to havve new rims/wheels made... not sure on the fronts yet, but I ned better turning... more contact...

Its sounds good on the net! But the guy was in his class alone, so he might not have been on it hard!

Congrats on the 2nd place.

You ever support the air filters like we talked about?

Figure a way to support the carbs too obviously they need supported.

All packed up and loaded leaving tomorrow morning!!! Of course I have to stop in San Antonio and pick up a dump truck to haul to Las Vegas... I might stop and Play for a day at the nellis dunes ride spot!
Most likely will make a U-turn and head to Phoenix... I have some new wheels and tires to mount on the Triple EEE
I need to defend my first place standing!!!

I blew a solid first place by blowing up a front hub and losing a wheel at speed!!! I wound up 3rd place and spent the day patching up the hub to race tomorrow!

Anybody know how to get ahold of Ed and Sara from triple EEE???

Yesterday I was able to patch this up enough to race today! Luckily for me slickrick showed up to help and be my pit crew and chief! After my first lap of just "trail riding" I pulled into the pits and rick had to tighten up several lug nuts on both sides of the car! After two laps of stopping and him torqueing everything seemed to have stayed tight! After the 3rd lap it was now time to pick up the pace! I knew I still had a chance because one entrant was dead in the water, and another I lapped since he too was having mechanical issues! I wound up finishing this race and pulled off a second place finish! I very well may be still in the running as overall points leader!
Again a big thanks to rick for coming out to help! He might have taken a picture or two!!!
