Look what I got this arvo,BIG thanks to Ed,he is my buggy parts dealer/broker/pimp! :-)
It was real cheap (like Nukem) :-) Only US$20,complete with the rubbers!(Turbo get ya mind outa the gutter)
Thought I would get this here JUST incase!
When the AC550 Pilot gets here, maybe in a few weeks,I'll be keen asessing it,then maybe when I get a crazy,LeTS DOo iT day,I want everything here too doo a Skidoo
mount,motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) conversion.
Plan is to yank the AC550, fab up the Doo mount, then install the MXZ600 from the Drak.
Imagine 100-110 Whorespower,in a 300KG Pilot...until you add me and my beer belly!
Will make a great power to weight ratio.
This is Ed's ex ride, and has already been stretched orig by a guy from SoCal, at the rear, after the seat.
Akpilot-Wayne is deviling me into adding the extra roll bar setup like his.....I wish!
Hopefully won't be too hard, too doo the Doo.....do doo run run.

G'Day Baz, Great buy...more money left for beer! Looking forward to seeing that new motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) in action! How much power is the AC550? My AC600 efi is 105HP stock but I have the chip to make it high 120s.

Yeah the beer is always needed here,it's a stable part of our diet Mate!Image
I had one Mate who used to pour it on his Cornflakes...how's that for health conscious? Image

Not 100% sure on the AC550's whorespower,but think it's around 85-90HP?
Ed has told me that he had lots of trouble with eatin' cylinders,I will need to find out why of course.
It's had a total rebuild from the last owner. In the pics it shows the 2 large oval air filters inline from front to back and routed off to the right hand side.
My thinking is that the front one is blocking the ram air to the rear one,and creating a negative pressure zone in the rear one, leading to leanouts.
I have asked Ed if he can remember which cyl the rear filter belongs.

Here's a couple of pics of the AC550 Pilot.
Note the air filter posi's.
That rear one will be in bad aerodynamics, the 2 cyl's will not be in harmony.
Any thoughts?

Course I bought another Pilot! ............................It's been horrible,empty,knowing I was Pilotless.Sleepless nights,cold sweats,quivering lip...excess drinking! :-)

The first mint Pilot I got from Franko was the last one I had left, and swapped it remember last year for the FG Pool incl install and all equip.
The 2nd one I bought was a 2 woman owner, also mint and totally orig 90 model.Sold that one.
Then the 3rd was ATVr Neil's own LT500 Stadium Pilot, that was a hoot at Northam Speedway, sold that, then got the Drak.

So when I saw that Ed's ex550AC Pilot was back up for sale, and not far from him...........Just had to have it.
Mainly wanted it because it's already been stretched, and could accept the Drak's Doo600.

If all goes well,Akpilot-Wayne has just about deviled me into installing an 800 MXZ Doo Engine into it.
I know he's right....but don't tell im that!

If not, then another container is due next Wed.
Damn near went fluffy in the pants reading that!..................Are we there yet?????? :-)

Nope and..........nope! :-)

I too wanted pics of all the chassis frame mods etc,but the seller never did send me any.(NOT ED,he's fantastic, but the bloke he sold it to)

I should be getting it within the next few weeks. It has to be unloaded at Melbourne on the East Coast, then trucked over 2,000mls across the Nullabor Plains to me in the West Coast.

When I get it I will post up all the necessary pics that we would want.....and then some vids!
I will be gettin' rid of the double overhead pipes as well, and installing the OEM single with Y pipe,as it is included also.
Then I will be raising up,relocating the radiator for better, clearer, unrestricted air flow, which will also allow easier access to the Engine, carb, bay, etc.
Here we race in some decent heat, day and night,so will have to get the cooling side of things to max.
