Nice work. New wiring is always a good thing.

Looks like you cleaned up your tie rod ends and perhaps some bolts with the wire wheel. Make sure you clean 'em (acetone, spirits, or brake kleen) and hit 'em with some clear coat rattle can. I did a full restore on my Zilla and didn't clear the bolts I cleaned up, and after a couple rides...they looked like rusty hell.

Thanks I will try that. I have most all new grade 8 hardware. I do not have the larger fine thread bolts like the shock bolts and castle nuts.

These bins are my life savors. Getting low now now after so many projects. You will be surprised at the new hardware people scrap. I have a friend scrapper that calls me when ever he sees new hardware laying at the scrap yard. I buy it by the pound at pennies on the $. Also have lots cans of nuts and bolts I buy at yard sales. Other bins as well. Also a tool hoarder at yard sales.

I also build gokarts and restore 80's enduro motorcycles. These bins are time savers for sure.

Got a lot of grunt work done today. Should let me start getting a big jump done. Once I wire brush all the surface rust on the clutch faces I will use the drill and fine sand paper. It cleans them up like new.

Yes, I know this product well. I used the Marine Clean to restore my 1st FL250's Fuel Tank. The Por 15 stuff is awesome. I didn't know it cleaned so well though. Does this dissolve the corrosion these engines get on them?

It does the best I ever seen by far. But you still need to scrube that built/caked on oil around the exhuast ports.

Yah the por15 liners are way better than the Kreem liners for sure.

I bought it last night. How are you applying it? Spray Bottle? Let it soak?

Just doing so tidy work get ready to fire the Engine.

Seat tracks were packed with sand so I took them apart to wire wheel real good. Also bought the plastic seat rail guards to keep all the sand out of the tracks. I see people lube these up all the time. I think I am going to run my dry and see if I can keep sand and dirt from building up inside the tracks. At least I can wash the crap out when they are dry. Taking the tracks apart was interesting. One of the "how in the hell" moments. But needed to be done. They were full of grease, silicone and sand with lots of dirt and grime. Did I mention each one has four ball bearings that I spent 20 minutes looking for on my garage floor. :)

Also cleaned 1/8" of carbon off the exhuast port. Got the pipe and gaurd painted and the seat bottom put on. And the wheels sand blasted in my worthless sand blaster.

I got a line of some good used red fenders for my other restore I did. So now I have to put a like new set of black aftermarket black fenders. I really wanted yellow to stay all original. I do have a nice set of faded yellow ones that need restored. I think the new black one will look better then painted yellow one over time. I hate painted fenders. This summer I will buy a new set of yellow ones when cash flow pics up. Or I sale my nice faded yellow ones.

Also danbro49847 from Ebay makes the best seat covers I seen so far. They are well made at he adds the three stitch lines ih his covers like the original have. Also he sews in the padding. Other I have bought did not do both these.

Some pics

Well I was going to put electric start on this ody but changed plans. Problem is I already built the battery base on top of the Engine basket. H,mmmmm.

I could just leave it but I came up with another option that will make use of the bracket.

I bought this bag below in the pics. I will cut the part that connects the two bags off. Then make a I-bracket and bolt or pop rivit the bag to the bracket. The I-bracket will bolt to the old battery base with wing nuts for easy washing and removing. I also have an old clear microscope bag with tie string at the base. I will use this in muddy conditions for easy cleaning. On top of the bags I will have a little handle to lift the whole thing off with. I may use just one side of the bag for not sure how it will look yet. Each side is 11x7x3. As you can see they are ATV tank bags.

Why would you scratch the electric start idea if you already have the parts to do it? Plus you already made the Battery Mod as well.

I was able to buy the parts from Hoser to finish my other Challenger car. I was just going to sale the Challenger car until I got the parts. I would rather have the ES on that car so I changed plans in mid build.

Here is the challenger car I am doing next. I got a host of trick parts for this build I have been collecting.

Got some more small stuff done tonight. Mounted the tailight, carb and pipe. Also painted the air cleaner and seat track sliders. I think the carb was near new. Looks new anyway and was spotlesss inside. My neighbor had this carb since the 80's. It had lots of dust and cleaned up well. Also rebuilt the fuel pump with kit.

To do list

Headlight
finish wiring
Rebuild seat track sliders
Rebuild caliper
Install seat
Paint wheels and mount tires
Paint recoil starter
Hook up E-brake
Steering wheel cover
Fuel pump and plumbing
Air cleaner
Storage bags

Sure there is lots more as well.

I forgot to add I got the atv tank bags today in the mail. I plan on making a little t bracket hanger to hang them from. Will give me plenty of storage. I have spare belt,CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition),Coil, poncho and tools ready to add.

I do have a nice clear plastic microscope dust bag with tie string. I will use that to cover the bag when riding in mud and storage. There will be a bike hand grip on top of the bracket. The bracket will be bolted to the base with 4 wing nuts to remove it easy.

I need to know if it looks dumb or cool before I go any further? I do need to hide that baterry bracket. I thought this was okay way to use it since I scratched the ES.

It will not effect cooling right? Its behind the Engine some.

Got a chunk done today. Rebuilt the Caliper and made the storage bag thingy. Also got the wheels painted and one mounted. I thought the bag turn out okay. I got some nice sturdy storage now with those two bags. They will puff out when I add stuff. I am going to add a handle on top of the bags with a bycycle hand grip. (we see how it looks) Wing nuts on the bottom so you can wing it off for washing, working or walking out. I have a clear bag that ties over it for muddy rides. Has a bottle holder as well.

Going to start it tomorrow.

Darn I totaly spaced the seatbelt. I need to clean a pair up.
