found this email about this project tonight, thought I would include it as the project nears completion: "I bought this 2 years ago, and drove out to California to buy it, 4477 miles of fun. I paid $10K for it, and my now asking price of 6000K will be the absolute bottom on this, as I am losing my a$$ on it! This machine is not MINT, but it is definitely a solid runner, in great condition for its age. I have only ran it about 5 short times, and I would say less than 2 hours of riding. When I bought it, the guy just had a shop do the top end. I do not know the bore, but I could have swore he said it was still stock.. This has the following goodies.. ATV racing long travel, chromolly cage, brand new ATVR pipe and silencer,
powerbloc clutch, tach, pyrometer, suspension seat & firewall, wrist restraints, full belly/Engine skid plate, desert bumper, KC lights, teamtech harness, cool head, elec water pump, radiator relocate, door nets, extra axle (new), and rear paddles on beadlocks (new), and the bump steer kit. The only negatives to speak of.. The CV boots will need replacing soon, e-brake has been eliminated, the mirrors are fogged, one heim joint has slight bend (see pic), lower a-arm has a very slight bend to it (see pic), and only one crack in all of the plastic. When the long travel was installed, they did a less than great job on the rear connecting points. I have new machined mounts that I was going to re-weld in. This in not a big deal, but just more cosmetic than anything. There are no bends or dented tubing to speak of. Other than some crappy cutting and welds to make room for front bumper. The shocks are strong, with no leaks to speak of. That's really all I can say about it. It is a great running machine, I just don't have the time and space to run it like I thought I would."
" I am really burned out on selling this thing. I have dealt with so many dead leads and tire kickers, that I could just store it and forget about it. But it needs a home where someone will enjoy this sweet machine. :) If you are a serious buyer, and know what the value of it really is, then lets talk. I have about 5 guys in California and a possible buyer from Michigan that really would like to make a deal, but no commitments yet.. I really want to sell it locally,no trades, and cash in hand. This has never been titled. I was just looking into it last week, and does not seem to be a hassle. At least here in MN that is.. I have done it in the past, and it is not a big deal. I had the VIN searched before I bought it, and it shows up clean. I would be willing to meet you part way on the drive, for the cost of my fuel. Not many long travels (or any) forsale in the midwest for that matter. It took me 3 years of hunting for the right one, and still had to make the long trek to buy this one... Hate to see it go. :( But the wife sez so.."
The pic of the compression test was just taken for a board member this week. The battery was dead, and I gave it a few pulls on the rope. I think it should be a bit higher if warmed up and cranking it with the starter.
