Well Father in Law was busy today so the start up will be later this week. He needs to finish up the wiring. But I did get the tires and front fenders on.

I do not like the black fenders but it's all I have right now. Mext month if it does not sale I will by a new yellow set to match. Will add the rear fenders when we get all the wiring and stuff done.

I got the exhuast baffle and the new belt along with both belt guards on tonight. Painted the rear wheels and mounted the recoil and dust rope boot. I am going tob uy metric bolts and washers to clean up some of the rusty bolts you see. I am really low on metric hardware. Should be riding it soon.

Got the rear fenders on tonight. Also going to make yellow covers that velcro over the pads on the roll bar. This will give it some yellow. Also going to try to make a stock looking rack for the back. The mounting holes are already there. I think I can make a nice rack that looks close to the OEM one. Use my vice to smash the ends and bend and weld it up.

I started the rack tonight. Ran out of gas after the first tac weld. I left the bottle on last time I used. Hate that!!!!!

I am making a copy of the OEM Odyssey rack you see in the pics above. I think I got a good start. I used and old Engine basket/cage from an FL250. As you can see it is the same as Honda used to make the rack just without all the brackets welded on. So I cut them off and had the perfect OEM frame for the rack. They want $200 plus for these racks on Ebay. These were an OEM option. Been watching for them on ebay and no good used deals come up.

If I made this rack before paint. I could have just used the tabs that were already on the Engine basket to mount rack to roll bar. I just would of had to weld the tabs onto the cage bars just like the one below them. Would be sweet but I already painted. I think it would be cleaner than the legs going down on each side of the air cleaner. You see the tab pn the corner in the first pic. Would be so simple.... Be warned though I cut some lenth off the basket. So who knows where those tabs would of ended up. If you do this mod keep that in mind.

What looks better, the original style with the two bars in the back? Or three bars in the back? I posted pics of both styles. Last pic shows an original Ody rack. I did not use the larger two pipes in the middle. Think I should? Edit: Now that I look at I have the same size pipe down the middle. It's the two outer ones that is smaller pipe. Use the smaller pipe?

Well I got the rack done. I think it looks perfect with the black fenders. I really needed some yellow in the back. I added some grip tape to help with scratches. It is just rattle can with clear coat for paint. If I was to make this rack before I painted with POR15. I would have used tabs to bolt the rack to the roll cage and skip the whole legs/feet things. Plus it would beef up your cage lots as well.

I will be making a headrest as well. I do not like how anything on the rack could slide into your head. I want to do something there now.

By pure luck my storage bags still fit and line up perfect to the cage. The bags can come off easy with two wing nuts if you want full rack space. I like how the bags look now. Before it looked like it was just sitting on the ody. I posted a before the rack pic. You can see how the bag looked out of place. IMO it has a place now.

I will be adding a headrest. Also a fire shovel and fire Axe along with a fire ext. I also posted a pic of the shovel fire ext. set up I did on my sled Ody. Will look something like that but with a Axe. (notice how the shovel derects air onto the Engine?) Also notice the headrest in the red sled ody below. I will make a headrest like that.

In Oregon's Tillamook Forrest they make you carry shovel on your truck if your riding. I thought it would be cool to have one on my rig for all the forrest riding I do. Besides that it just more for looks. I like thinking up stuff like that. Try to be different without over doing it. I was worried the yellow color on the rack would look dumb. I will have a another spot to mount stuff behind the headrest. This will also protect the driver head from crap that may be on the rack. I would hate to hit a tree and have something in the rack bust you in the back of the head. I need to fix this problem I made. Honda's Rack is in the same spot though.

The storage bags will have CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition),Coil,Tire plug kit,pump,First Aid,Rain poncho and fire starter kit.

This Ody will be for sale after the first test ride. I will sale it for $1500 to anyone in this group. Or trade for Challenger cars or older FL250 vintage racers. I need the cash to dump into my next build in waiting. I would rather have the challenger chassis car in the pic below. I have been collecting parts for it and have most what I need.

I figure $1500 is a fair price. It has lots new and rebuilt. I have not ran the Engine but it had 145lbs with zero end play. Piston and walls were very nice. PO had it halfed polished when I got it. I hope that's a good sign. Stay tunned for Engine startup vids and Engine updates. As of right now who knows right? I do have a nice running confirmed spare ready to replace it if needed. If I do not sale it here I think I will ebay it. I may do really well for what it is.

Now I got to find a way to add the stuff above and make it look cool and not retarded. I love working on this kind of work.

Edit: posted better pic of the last headrest my father in law made. He moved here from the Philippines 2 years ago. The guy can fix anything with nothing. He would rather make his own pop rivits with nails than use a rivit gun. 3rd would style if you will. He is a wiring wiz which is a huge help. I need to give him credit for he helps me lots with my builds. In the Philippines he was a lineman and sub-powerplant worker for 35 years. (has anyone here seen 3rd world power poles?) Explains why he is the electronics and wiring wiz. Give the guy a muilti-meter and a battery and he can figure out anything. To me it's amazing what he can do.

If no money for for Ody's then no money for sending to the Phillipines. Right now it's a stall mate. I figure if I sale this one it will buy me time for the next one. LOL

I got the fenders for the Ody in the pics below. But now I am kind of liking the black fenders. So I will buy anohter set of black or red fenders soon. Not sure which would look better black or red? Thinking black would look sick with the red seat.

Not being able the find the correct ODYSSEY decal for the side frame is urking me. I can find the correct one for the red models but not the yellow models. Anyone know where to find them?

Looks great, what do the neighbors say about all the street driving hope you live in a cool neighborhood.

Not sure what they think. I never ride for more than 5 minutes or so though. Kids on mini bikes ride around all day. So I think I just have a cool hood.I just do test ride and sometimes ride to all the close yard sales on a Ody.

They are an aus. company but shipping was fast at like 10 days. Happy with the deal. After you order and pay shipping to USA the email will ask for shipping again. Egnore this email it is a software glitch. Or that's what they told me when I emailed to complain. Besides that I am happy with them and the decals.

Do you use any sort of top coat over the POR15. I read on their site that the POR 15 paint isn't UV resistant unless you top it with the Chassis Top Coat or equivalent.

If you don't top coat it have you noticed any change in the paint color after it has been exposed to the elements for a while?

Yes POR15 black needs top coat. What I do is top coat the por15 with russtolim rattle can WHILE THE POR15 IS STILL TACKY. If done this way it bonds as one and is UV safe. If the por15 is not tacky the top coat will scratch off like cheap paint does.

POR15 Hardnose line does not need top coat and has colors.
