Where is the cross brace in the Engine compartment?

Butcher removed it looks like the intentions were to replace it higher up on the ATV Racing replacement upper cage?
The bar your talking about normally supports the shock towers the longer shocks required taller shock towers so they relocated that bar higher on the cage?

This Pilot came from CA reading the cut and paste from Mudbogger the guy he bought it from didnt do all the work the guy in CA did can only assume he was smoking pot most the time he was working on this Pilot I don't see much sober decision making done when this Pilot was modified if their was he was a dumbass :-)

Finished the prefilter need to tweak the support bracket slightly once the paint is full cure will give it a little twist so it meets the filter better.

Some more crappy pics I will take some better pics when I get it outside.

I used JB "Stik" weld to glue in the fitting. Image

Fabricated a support bracket to attach to the top to help support the filter, I have found 3-4 clamp on filters on the trail over the years if you don't support them they can fall off, anybody remember Alain form Drakart took a brand new Drakart and entered it in a desert race as a promotional thing and only made it about one lap both his K&N filter fell off in the desert some place and his brand new 4000.00 ROTAX 600cc Engine stopped running because it sucked too much dirt, what a way to break in a brand new Engine....

The bracket complicates removing/installing the filter but is well worth the few extra minutes you have to deal with it at maintenance time.

File comment: I drilled a few holes in the bracket to offset the added weight I even splashed a little red paint on the bracket so it wont rust

Very nice Hoser! Love it, and I agree the minute or 2 more to remove that filter due to the bracket is fine with me!
