hey guys just wanted to introduce myself. My name Is Paul, some of you guys know
me from other sites as Intmach Or Ziggy. I Have been in the two-stroke Engine world
since i was 18 years old and now am a rip old 35 and haven't lost any interest yet. I
work as a New Product designer and Cad/Cam tech. I take Ideas and turn them into
tangable Parts. Hoser Invited me to this site and wanted me to share some info with
you guys..

He said some of you guys were looking for aftermarket Heads for the pilots and Odysseys..
Well Here is an Example of what we do. This is a simple NSR head. We have built custom
Parts for alot of two-stroke applications. This is how we do what we do..

This is just to show some of you guys the design process.
First of all we make a solid model of the part we want to make. With the Computer
model we can run stress and analsys testing and determine fits and tolerances. This
Head will be made from 7075 aluminum. althought there are alot of steps that have
been removed from this demo you will get the picture.
I use and prefer The CAD program Solidworks,
There are three major steps to making a part. first step like I said is the modeling
process:

File comment: Then when we are sastified it will work, we will take into a CAM program. I use and prefer Mastercam. This will help us
generate the code for the cnc machine to cut the inside of the head. For this example we are only cutting the profile of the water jac

Thanks for the post and pictures Ziggy, I met Ziggy over on MacDizzys board 3-4 years
ago come to find out he lives about an hr from me, some of you may have crossed paths
with him on other sites in the past, I think MGR knows him ?

Over the years Ziggy and I talked about making heads for Pilots and Odysseys but just
never got around to doing it now maybe we can get something going...

Today I shipped him an old FL250 head to play with in his spare time maybe he can
post his thoughts and some design screen captures once he starts the design?

I still have my stock air cooled head for a 350.

If interested I would send it out for him to look at.

Looks great! When do you think you could make one for an FL350? And what would the approximate cost be?

Hoser,

Can you keep posting as to the progress on the 250 heads? H2O heads are nearly non-existant for the 250's now. We've had several in the past, but there are few on the market now. I picked up an old Rands head from Sandrat a couple of months ago, but other than that I haven't seen one for several years.

If they could be produced for somewhere near $250.00 they would probably be a very hot item for the 250's.

Ya, the problem here is the size. The amount of material to make a head that size makes it expensive. I would think the head and dome could be made for less than 200 though. I am working on the Prototype design now and will update this post with some Pics. Sorry it's taking so long. I have been extremely busy all of the sudden.. LoL but that's the way this stuff work feast or famin. I will keep you guys in the loop. I have all the dimensions i need on the 250 and 350 heads so now it's just a matter of sitting down and doing it..

Ziggy

What would be good is if you can make it a sealed system so you do not have to drain water each time you have to work on things. I have a 350 head that way and really like it over what is available out there right now.

What about making water cooled cyln.?

I have a cylinder that I got with my ody when I bought it that had the bottom broke off where it goes into the cases that I would donate if it would help. I have no idea what the bore measures.

A little more severe, whole side is broken off. I guess it doesn't make much difference how much is broken. I can dig it out & take a pic
