I just got the prototype "dual inlet" airbox lid from protoGLAS today. I'm very impressed with the workmanship and quality of this piece. I'll be testing it out this coming Saturday, so look for a ride report early next week.

This one has white gelcoat just because that's what they had on hand at the time. I think I can have them made in either white, red or primer (the primer is paintable).

How will it seal at top of air box? Will the oem ring still fit?

There's no groove on the inside for the OEM seal because it is made on a one sided mold. The seal will have to be some type of soft flat gasket material. I'll know more after this weekend.

Well, I tested it over the weekend and I've come to a few conclusions.

The positives:
1. It gave me more throttle response than the stock lid. The motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) just seemed to breathe better.
2. It just looks good.

The negatives:
1. The lid did not seal well against the air box with no gasket.
2. A new lid with a gasket (from service honda) will cost you about $35 with shipping. Materials to modify a stock lid (to a dual configuration) cost about $10 at home depot. The time to do the work is about an hour. My cost on a fiberglass lid is about $55.

Looks like this is probably dead project.
