Im looking for an old tech post that has to do with modifing the pilots steering on a LT pilot. A guy welded up the stock holes on the steering wheel shaft and drilled 1 center one like the fl350 to get both wheels to have the same turning or throw. I did a search and have been looking for days but i camt find it. Any help will be greatly appreciated thanks

From what I can see they both do the same thing? BigToms mod looks easier than changing the bottom of the steering shaft to be like the FL350.

The lsat trip out to Glamis I took both my LT pilot and my modded fl350. And it was just me with both bikes So i moved the seat back in the fl350 so I can dune with it (since its set up for the 10 year old) And the turning on the odyssy with my bumpsteer kit worked 100 times better then my pilots. So after looking at both set ups and measuring it all again. The only difference was the pilot had 2 points of tierod mounting to the steering shaft and the odyssey had only 1. I remembered reading somewhere before (dirtcheapracing) that they matched the odyssey's center steer and the steering was way better. So I wanted some info before I went ahead and moddified my set up. Got done yesterday and it now works way better. Before the leading tire would turn an inch and a half more then the opposite tire so after i welded up the old holes and drilled 1 center hole and got everything adjusted. my tires both turn the same. Its amazing how much an inch and a half more steering on the outside tire really makes. Plus I also added my fox air shocks to the front finally.

I still need to have them revalved and set but all the fab work is now done so I took it all apart last night and Im going to start painting the frontend this weekend. Hopefully I can get the shocks sent out soon to be revalved so I can ride her soon.

Sweet, do you have any detail pics of the mod and your steering setup?

Did you just drill one hole and stack the hiem joints (one on each side of the plate) ?

Refresh me your front arms are how much wider than stock?

Sorry about the pics I just upload them from my phone. (Hoser) My setup is atvr 7 inch over kit. The ares are 3 1/2 inches over stock. that's exactly what I did I welded up the stock holes and drilled 1 center hole and put 1 hyme under the plate with spacers to clear at full turn and 1 hyme on top with spacers to clear at full turn. I used 1/2 inch hymes with a 1/2 inch grade 8 3inch bolt.
