One of Michigan's busiest recreation areas, Silver Lake State
             Park offers the only dune area in the state allowing off-road vehicles
             (ORV's).. North of Muskegon, the nearby hamlets of Mears and
             Silver Lake lie off the "Hart" exit of Route 31. Although only a few
             miles apart, these villages provide a study in contrasts. While
             Mears still clings to much of its rural character, the town of Silver
             Lake appears more tourist-oriented.

As you can see when you go during the off season parking is no problem
Later that day there were a total of 4 cars in the parking lot.
