Updated 8-12-08 These are not really good pictures, it is pretty hard to see the small holes I suggest you hold your filter up to the light after it is washed and dried, Take your time and look at it for 30 seconds or so. I like to stop dirt particles measured in microns not thousands of a inch. Even after oiling the filter with K&N oil you still see open holes, no matter how much oil is sprayed on the filter I still see open holes in the filter media.
