I probably have about 20 hours on my Odyssey since the last time I changed the oil. When I changed it last, all seemed fine. It was dirty, but no problems.

Today it started making noise so I headed back to the car. I couldn't put it in neutral after I shut it off.

When I cam home I took out the oil drain plug and just a couple ounces drained. I assumed I fried it. I think I can see a hair line crack in the case, but there was no visible sign of oil leaking.

Here is the strange part. I pulled the oil check screw after that and oil drained out of it. I then added more oil with both the drain plug and the check screw and oil only poured out the check screw. Only small drops would come out the drain plug.

Has anyone ever heard of this?

Never heard of that one but try taking out the drain plug and stick a screw driver into the hole and see if it is plugged with the debris for when the tranny possibly let go. I grabbing at straws here but you gotta start somewhere!

Sounds like it is at least time to pull out the tranny, split the cases and inspect it!

Are there parts available to rebuild trasmissions for the FL350? I looked on ebay and its $400 - $500 for a used one.

I'm trying to decide between fixing it and parting it out. Lots of little issues lately. Starter quit working and rear suspension part failed on last ride alone.

Thanks in advance.

What parts are broken if any? This tranny is on ebay, may have some parts you need.

Where do you live? How much is an FL350 parted out worth?

They're worth more in pieces than as a whole.

Here's just a general run down of the big parts and their worth:

Non bent frame 500
foot tub no cracks 200
Non torn seat 150
transmission 350 to 500
Engine as a whole 500
axles 150 plus a set

You get the idea.

My daughters boyfriend Ridindirty just managed to pick up a fairly clean ody that was a runner for $1000. We had to bore the cylinder but that's almost a necessity with a used FL350.

Too bad Carson City it too far for you Big Head, I just acquired an Ody that all it needs is universals and one rear shock. I was thinking of getting an Fl250 for my Grandson who just turned 8 but he is a gig 8! LOL

Still thinking. Have old friends in Sparks/Reno I would not mind seeing. I have all 4 weeks vacation right now as well. It could be done. The wife is going to be the hard part now.

Send me some pics to me.

I'm almost done pulling the transmission now so I should know in about a week when my buddy cracks it open what the inside looks like. I'll make the final decision then. Thanks so much for the input. I appreciate the heads up on guys with parts. I'll definitly let you know what I decide to do once its torn apart. I'm really suprised there are so many people with parts and also that Honda still stocks so many parts. Pretty impressive for something that is 27 years old.

I posted this thinking that if I could sell the Engine, but I doubt I can get $700 for it and that is after $375 to put in a new top end last month.

I'm still looking for parts. My main concern is I can't seem to find an AB gear and the dealer can't order it anymore either.

Does anyone have a tranny they are parting out? I know I need the following parts.

1,# 5$200 1,#17 not available 1, #24? 2,#33? 2,#25

Thought Randy at http://www.pilotodyssey.com/PO/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16721 had a bunch of AB gears made up?

Ouch - I tried the Odyssey salvage site, but it would be a little pricy for everything I needed. I went ahead and sold the Engine on ebay and am parting out the rest. Thank you everyone for your help.
