I had a little time to work on my ody today. I finally got it to start. The Goki starter is awesome. I am curious if it has issues though, because it seems very loud at time of engagement. It may be a weak battery though. I have it on the charger right now.

Hoser told me to check the carb bowl once I got it to start. Here is what I found:

The machine started well after 4-5 tries with the Goki. I hope I can get that down to 2-3 tries.

The machine ran for 3-3.5 minutes then died.

I pulled the carb off carefully. I started to remove the bottom screws in the bowl. Gas started to pour out of the carb. The bowl was really FULL!!

My thought is that once the machine started it took a little while to build up the fuel in the bowl. I think that there is some setting with the float that is incorrect and once the fuel level gets to high, the machine floods out.

If there could be some other issue that you think of, please share....

I had set the float settings per the CLYMER when I rebuilt the carb. Please offer any suggestions that you have. I could really use the help.

Thanks for your time..........

Float needle sealing?

With the carb off and no fuel inside blow in the gas line with your mouth, rotate the
carb and as you turn it over the needle should shut off the air when gravity takes over
and it should seal.

Hoser...

The float was set correclty. Come to find out, the previous owner had the wrong slide in the carb. I have been chasing the wrong problems all along. I am curious if that is why it leaned out on the last owner?

The NEW GOKI STARTER motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) was bad. Not cool. Goki was really good about sending me out a new one overnight thought. So far I am still really impressed with them and their product. I guess all manufacturers will have a lemon every once in a while.

Off to try it out.....

How did you make out with the issues?

I took the machine to Siver Lake this weekend. Once I got the jetting down things went fairly well. Seems to have good power throughout all throttle ranges. It does not have much of a top end though. I need to get it up on the stand and test the clutches. It acts like I have a clutch issue.

Other than that, I rode it alot throughout the day. I just stayed off the big hills.
