I needed a spare. That clip was the culprit for my DNF at the mountain Ridge GNCC. I was minding my own business halfway through 3rd lap when all of a sudden Im getting no throttle response. I thought I had lost the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) but was puzzled because there was no warning, and it would idle fine. My next thought was fuel filter or pump. I wasn't able to disassemble at the track due to the excessive mud so I waited till I got home for a good douche prior to dis assembly. I started with fuel filter and pump output test, both where OK. I next unscrewed the cap of carb and immediately noticed a problem when the needle was not present in the slide assembly. After removing the cap cover on slide I found 3/4 of the E clip laying in the slide. Problem solved, the E clip broke and allowed needle to stay in Jet instead of rising with slide causing motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) to die because of lack of fuel. Replaced clip, reassemble and I am good to go rule at Ohio this fall...

I lost one on the entrance to the silver lake dunes, Just disappeared. Engine started running like poo, pulled the slide out and the clip was missing. Never did find it, could still be in the bottom end after all these years. Thank god the atv shop at the parking lot entrance had some clips.

Needle is not bent and i have not located the missing piece. It is possible it came out when i unscrewed cap nut of slide but i cant verify that. Studying the slide i don't really see any place it could have gone unless it broke into small enough pieces to fall through needle hole in slide.
