Drak::

2001 DRAKART Formula Cross, 585 Bombardier, 2-Stroke, 110 hp, has heavy duty rear axles too....Damn fast !!!!!

Located in Redondo Beach, Calif, near LAX.

DRAKART was Purchased for my wife who was paralyzed in an UN-related accident,

We equipped it with HAND-controls from a Honda Odyssey . See Photos.

We bought this DRAKART in 2007,

It is very fast, in good condition, brand new carbs, only used 10x since 2007.

The DRAKART does not fit our family needs any more.

We have two small kids and we are looking for a 4-stroke - 4-SEATER for the family....

We are willing to consider TRADE for a 4-SEAT UTV - Side by Side - RZR type.

Or you can make an offer on the DRAKART.

Was Purchased in 2007 for $ 13,000.00 so I wont budge much on the $10K

Looks like a nice machine.Just an FYI, those controls look like a Pilot wheel instead of an Odyssey since the master cylinders are on the wheel, and the warning lights. Good luck with the sale.

Does anyone know how much of a project it would be to upgrade the steering to close ratio since you have to cross your arms to turn with the Pilot steering wheel?

I installed a Howe 2:1 steering quickener on my 02 Drak,it brought the lock-lock positons exactly like the Pilot's.
It's just a matter of fab'n up some holding brackets and being accurate in where you cut the steering column.
I installed mine as low as poss-near the R&P steering box, just incase I needed to add or change anything later on up the steering shaft/column.
Luckily I did that because I did'nt factor in the extra turning effort required as a consequence of the SQ 1:2 ratio.
I then had to add in an electric power steering kit from Unisteer,I think I picked the Yamaha Rhino one,as it came with good brackets to work/mod from and uni-joints hardware.
I also had to increase my stator output(custom 400W from RM Stator) and battery size to FEED the EPS power demands!

So you see the domino effects?
Bottom line,"Is it worth it all?".........................................".Hell Yeah!,it's fo the sake of betterr/responsive racing is'nt it?" Image

Halo has already done this. Installed a pilot wheel, power steering, and a 2:1 quickner. With the quickner, you HAVE to add power steering, it makes the steering way too stiff. And you HAVE to use a 2:1 quickner. Halo initially used a 1.5:1 ratio quickner and it did not provide enough throw.

Or be a man and drive it without power steering :-)

Hi Dave-co, Did you source an axle for this machine, or was that picture taken with the axle out for repair and has since been replaced?

It wouldn't be driveable with an axle missing, the rear wheel would just be flopping all over the place and the car would just go round in circles everytime you hit the throttle, well it would pull pretty violently to the right.

If you found an axle where did you get one, Brittabrat is in dire need of axles for her machine.

Cheers
Dave
