Check this out guys, I picked this up today for $3500. The guy was asking $4500. I think I got a SMOKIN deal!! It is powered by a kawasaki 440cc water cooled snowmobile motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) with dual mikuni 44mm round sliders. I think it might be a bit much for carburation. It has awesome low end, but when you open the throttle all the way it seems to fall on its face. Anyway, I will figure it out. Check out these pics!!!!!!

Good looking car.

As far as the falling on it's face part, check the reeds. Sounds like a broken reed pedel (petal?)(sp?)!

I think the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) is actually pre-reed valve technology, but am not sure. I will find out soon and will post detailed pics of the car as well.

Hoser, don't you have a 440 in a pilot? What are you running for carbs? Shoubadaba and I seem to think the 44mm mikunis are a bit big. I do have 2 38mm mikuni flat slides i can try out, but would have no idea where to start on jetting. We ride mostly at around 700' elevation.

The front spindles are set up for brakes, but they are missing. I may or may not put them back on. The previous owner had some adapters made to change it from a 4x4'' pattern to a 4x144mm pattern using honda quad style front rims. The rears have the 4x4'' pattern and have a set of 9'' douglas black labels. How hard do you think it will be to find some 10'' wheels for that pattern? Any suggestions on what application would use that pattern?

Look on the Engine for a tag the tag should have a model number of the Engine we go from their.

Nutten wrong with a piston port Engine.

You have a real GEM their, before I made ANY changes I would call Triple E and talk to ED, ED spent a huge amount of time perfecting his cars, if yours is still setup the way he sold it I would not go swapping rims and carbs without getting approval from ED FIRST!!! more than likely no matter how well planed and thought out your changes might be your going to degrade its performance by making well intention changes...

Its hard telling what the former owners have done to that car I assume ED can tell you if you sent him pics then called him, better yet take the car to him if its practical and he is willing to look at it!

The last contact info I had is Triple-* E----> 1-800-763-3762 http://www.expresspages.com/t/triplee/ Sara's E-mail address at Triple E... smorrisk@yahoo.com

I cant STRESS ENOUGH getting in touch with and talking to ED you can take a real winner and make it a loser real easily.

More pics yet? Yeah I am nagging you lol

Keep us updated please.

Hoser,
It is not nagging at all! I greatly appreciate the information. I did take more pics and will load them shortly. The previous owner actually has talked to Ed quite a few times. I will for sure call and talk to him and get suggestions and information. Thanks for that bit of advice! I want to do this car right. For the most part, it is ready to go. I just need to figure out the power issues, tires/wheels, maybe change out the rear shocks, they are old school air shocks and I never trusted those things. My view was they are meant to assist a suspension, not BE your suspension, LOL!

pic comin up soon ;-)

Those are not the correct wheel and tires for the machine. They came with a 13" reinforced wheel with a car tire in the rear. You will definatly want to put brakes on the front. They can get up and go so you need to be able to stop. I run a 500cc sled motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) that is piston port and have tried many different carb slections on this piston port motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )). The biggest problem with the piston port motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) is that it does not make as much torque as a reed valve Engine does down low. I have tried a 36mm, 38mm, and the 44mm. Overall the 38 gave me the best all around performance. I had to have a spot on clutch tune for getting out of the hole, but the mid range power and top end were very nice. The 36 really suffers on the top end but gives me enough snap out of the hole that I can lift the tires off the ground a little bit. Works very well for trail riding and low speed technical riding that we have on the east coast. The 44mm gave me strictly top end power- noticably more than the 38mm; Tried it for trail riding and in somecases I was unable to even spin the tires to get the buggy moving. I was running a 790 driven clutch on all these which is smaller in diameter than the driven that came on the EEE, this effectlivly reduces your gear ratio/mechanical advantage. Brooks from this board (pm him for info on brakes wheels etc) has the same car that you have and is running a 500 sled motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) with reeds, 38mm flat slides and twin exhaust. His is quick out of the hole, but still needed clutch tuning to get the top end speed right.

Yes, I knew the wheels were wrong, I think the rears are something that was close and the bolt holes might have been drilled. The pattern is 4 on 4'' which a 4x100mm is close, I think the yamaha blaster uses that pattern, but it is slightly smaller. With a skilled hand it can be made to fit.
The buggy still has the brake cylinder for the front, but the outer stuff is missing. I might put it back on eventually, will start new thread when time is right for that project.
I was thinking the same as far as carbs go. I already have a set of 38's. Might see how the 44's work out first, wont change if I don't have to, but I may have to since most of the riding we do is in the sand where you need torque, not so much high rpm's. Am not sure if I will go dual pipes or not.
Anyway, more pics are here!

Oh yeah, the face of the clutch says John Deere!!!! Does that tell anyone anything?

Thanks for the pics.

Guessing since it has a JD clutch the Engine came out of a JD snowmobile? Kawisucky made the engines for JD they were a good Engine think they were about 80hp

Any pics of the spare gear box?

How many turns of the steering wheel to go from full right lock to full left lock?

You need better filter setup  Never understand why someone goes to all that trouble to build a car then don't make something nice for air filtration the life blood of the Engine...

Those air filters are to small from my experiences. Uni's are hard to find in a big filter. Get some K&N's and wrap them with the universal uni air filter foam.
