Hello Friends

I am building a FL250 for a my handicap nephew. I have a fl250 Ody frame. It is missing the rear axle and driven/gearbox. I also have a 1979 ATC110 three wheeler that is ruff. I did get it to run pretty good though.

My questions are have any of you seen this swap before? I want to use the three wheeler axle as well. Any pics or a thread topic would help lots. Just need to be pointed in the right derection.

Hoping this swap can work. The Ody steering wheel and the low gear in the ATC tranny would make a great ride for my handicap nephew.

My suggestion would be to find a more complete Odyssey to start with unless you like scrounging for parts and fabricating.

the 110 Engine will be under powered I would sell it to someone on the 3 wheeler board and seek out something better, the Engine relies on air moving over it to cool mounting on a Odyssey will cook it, a 10HP fan cooled lawnmower type Engine would be a better choice.

Post pics as you go along no matter what you do.

If your REALLY hell bent on using what you have cut off the front of the ATC and marry it to the rear of the Odyssey?

Here are some fl250 parts for sale in Portland that you might be able to use, rear axle and gearbox. :-)

Been thinking about what Hoser said. Looks like I will be useing the ATC110 motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )). The 110 motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) and back half of the 3 wheeler is way to long to fit whole. The head on the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) would be about right in the middle of the seat.

I have a 1' axle and 8" wheels from a Go Kart. I can mount that axle under the Ody frame. I will have to buy a 428 sprocket to fit the axle. I can use the Go Kart disc brake as well. (if big enough) Once that is mounted I can fab the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) mounts for the ATC Engine. This way the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) can be set low and any place I need it to be. The main reason I am thinking this route is for the ATC110 axle is not very wide.

I am not to worried about it being under powered. At this time and age he would be putting around in low gear. The ATC has a low and high gear. This would be perfect for him power wise.

Now cooling is probably the magor problem. Been thinking about channeling air onto the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )). Or even a little fan if possible from the ATC Charging system. He will not be going that fast so air flow will be limited.

Questions?

Will the ATC Engine run a small fan? I am okay with no lights if needed to run a fan.

Is a 1' axle big enough?

Go kart style disc brake big enough?

I have thought about what Hoser said. Just hoping this will work for I have all the parts now and the project would cost me nothing. It would be really cool to able to take my nephew for a trail ride with us. He always goes camping with us but cannot ride any of the three wheelers. Are Ody's are way to powerfull for him too.

Off topic but I just picked this Ody up last weekend. Pretty happy with it. It's the little brother to my Vintage Cammex Racer.

I just picked up the blue one last weekend. It came with extras motors. It is well made. It has a very wide solid axle. Extended J-Arms. I was told the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) was bored 75 over. it has the 72-73 CR250 jug and head. The Stator was out when I got it. I got it to run but the crank is bent. It has 140lbs Psi. Have not figured out what kind of pipe. But it is home brewed. Big carb with billet manifolds. Came with a very nice looking tight FL250 motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )). Goki starter as well. Has some really wierd axle soports coming off the original Ody frame. (Can kind of see them in pics)

The best thing I like about it is the cage is really small and tight. Sits low and has very low profile.

I am going to post a thread on it this weekend. The guy was asking $1000. I gave hime $280 cash. A 1980 pedal type moped. And a 1974 DT125 Enduro. The Moped was worth about $450. And the Dt125 was worth about $300. I had to drive 400 miles round trip to get it. Also thse are the CL pics. Have not even had time to get pic yet. Look for the thread this weekend.

Looks like 3 different purchases, the yellow race buggy he got a few weeks ago, the fl250 on the start of this post that he wants to put a 110ATC Engine in , the blue one he paid $280 cash+MOPED+DT125. and I forgot the other one he got that has the snowmobile Engine. so that would be 4 he has got in less than 2 months :-)

LOL your right. But you forgot to add in the 3 three wheelers I also picked up in the last few months. This is why I want to make a rig for my handicap nephew. As of right now he just has to watch while we ride Go Karts and little 80's camping. Now add the Odyssey's and three wheelers he will just be left out. Not going to hapen. I will make him something.

Here is my wife and mother in law getting ready to ride.
