Well I have had this for about a month. I got it from my brother a member on here. Looks like he gave me a good platform to play with. We both wanted one when we were kids and he got it, now its mine....... Thanks Charlie. I haven't had much of a chance to run it yet. I plan on tearing it down and getting the frame and j arms powder coated. I will use stock colors. I finally found a powder coater in the area that has an oven big enough. Here are a few pics. It has a water cooled head, 5 gallon aluminum tank, 38mm flat slide carb, works on all 4 corners with rezi's, digatron, He put new main and I think crank bearings in it on the Engine rebuild with a leak down test. I think I got a good right for a great price. I am also looking for a set of good aloy rims. Any recommendation on brand and offset.

Hi and welcome to the site.

Are the J Arm bushings nice and tight, if not while you have it apart might be a good time to replace them...

Speed has contacte me about a possible trade on a set of bushings. They are tight but it needs rear axle bearings. which I will get locally. Oldmanody told me of a place here in Tulsa to get bearings. This site has been an addiction. Thanks for the great info.

The VXB site only sells China or Taiwan made bearings.......... I try my hardest to stay clear of bearings that are not made in the USA, Germany, or Japan.

You may pay 2-3 X's the amount for a good bearing but it will last many times longer as the Chinese made crap.

Sorry for the small rant but we as a nation got to get it together and realize that if we can buy products made here, we keep the $$$ here. Thus making us stronger as a nation and fueling our own economy.....We wouldn't be in such a pickel if so much of what we consume had not been outsourced to countries with dirt cheap labor, cheap (dirty)energy, and cheap (2nd rate)raw materials.

Cheaper is not always better.......at least not in the long run.

Nice ride.

I bought a pair of Douglas rear alloys from Rockymountain ATV & ITP fronts locally.

The offset makes it much wider & people said I'd be fighting the machine for control. Pfffffftttttttttttt, what a joke! I guess I'm stronger than I thought even though I'm skinny. :-)

Have a look at the wheels to give you an idea of the offset.

I like the offset, did you turn the fronts around or did they already have the offset like that. Fliping front wheels was a trick I used on quads to widen the front stance. It was always cheaper than a arms. In my opinion I don't mind the bump steer. If I wanted something that drove like a car then I wouldn't be driving an 85 FL 350.

Nope not union but was at one time( KC Local #10).....I don't care for the union socialistic mentality that some have, but I do like the values of producing a good product.

I am near Wichita only about 5 minutes away. I hope to get down that way sometime this spring to ride Waynoka.

What you really really need is one of my new and improved power bands...

Hehehe, you're a smart arse Hoser. :-)

No, I didn't turn the rims around, that's how they were.

Sorry, I don't know what the offset was/is.

I was talking about the power band. I still have a bag full of them I couldn't sell over at exriders.com. LOL
I did take the 350 out for the first time today. The hottest it got was 1220 according to EGT. I know that's debateable. It ran great. Needs the brakes flushed and bled, but the works suspension was amazing. It felt like I was floating over the jumps instead of jumping them
