I'm going to stop riding my FL350 so I'm going to go back to a stock Engine setup. This liquid cooled setup uses a Rand's liquid cooled head with a water jacketed cylinder. Fresh crank seals spring of 2012. Fresh speedchaser base gasket a couple weeks ago. Bottom end is tight. Piston and rings looked great when I changed the base gasket. The compression was over 160lbs prior to this gasket swap. I havnt checked it since but I'm sure it's the same now. I'd say I've put less than 10 hours ride time on this topend since it was installed. It runs very strong. here's a link to the install. I'll take $850 firm shipped anywhere in the US.

Here's a YouTube video. The blaster runs very good as far as blasters go. It's been "hoserized". Ronny is maybe 110lbs soaking wet. With me in it and the stuff I've added my 350 is right at 1000lbs.

I'm just so frustrated with this thing it makes me want to puke. All the money and effort I've put into this thing and every time I ride it something needs repaired. I want to work on it occasionally, not every time I want to ride. It's the only ATV I've ever had to push home. I want to be able to walk in the garage, hit the key, and not have to worry about it. It seems ive made it unrealiable or im just too hard on it. Its being a pain in my ass. My intentions all along have been to build a collection of these 80's ATV's that I can take to our local cruise nights. I knew at some point I wanted to trailer queen it and stop riding it. I wanted to enjoy it some first. I think it's driven me to that point. Maybe I should just forget about it for a while. Either way my ass isn't going back in that seat. The girlfriend can mouse it around if she wants to but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't like the pep that it has now. Idk. It pisses me off. What would Hoser do? One other question before I jump off this cliff does liquid cooling add to or decrease the value of my 350 for collecting purposes? I hung on to a low hour air cooled Engine for it. That will stay with this machine regardless. If it adds value I'll keep it but I don't think I'll be needing it to keep cool anymore.

What would I do, whats left to fix?

Most ATV's this age has been neglected so once you go through all the systems, fuel, brake, electrical, mechanical, suspension fix and maintain everything its all riding after that point.

If you want it is. Gotta buy the pipe to though. Can't get the headpipe to pull off for some reason and I don't want to damage it. I've got a complete low hour stock setup to go in this ride. I'll send you a pm Sir.

Hoser, I got it back together after the base gasket swap. The starter isnt engaging right. Have to hit the button a few times to get it to turn the Engine. That's new. Then I took off and didn't make it 100 yards and the drive belt broke. Grrrrrrrrrrrr. Pushed it back and it's sitting in my dads garage. All other systems are working well. If I sell this Engine I'm gonna go back to a stock Engine and enjoy it until I get a pilot for myself. Then this will be the girlfriends ride.

Sounds normal to me, replace the belt, hard telling with the starter have you been through it I forget the history.

I know the frustration have been their before nobody likes it, keep your chin up, moving to the Pilot would be a good move the 350 would make a great ride for the wife.

It checked out good when you installed the topend. It seems to work fine but doesn't want to engage??? I've got a rebuild kit here waiting for it. Wish it would've gave me this signal before I put the Engine back in it this time. Worked fine before. Ah well. I'm just taking a break for a while until everything slows down. Lifes been very busy lately. Winter is here. I've came to far on it to give up now. I've really enjoyed the project and still love the machine. She says she wants to start riding with me so it should work out great. I don't think I could find a more lady friendly machine than a stock Odyssey. She doesn't need anything crazy. As long as the brakes are solid and she doesn't get left stranded I'll be happy.

If it worked before you pulled the Engine maybe its something simple like a ground or bad connection some place, play with all the switches wiggle wires etc.

Havt really pushed to sell it. Honestly havnt touched it since trying to get the headpipe off. One guy may be interested at a later date. If not I'll just hang on to it. Don't need the money for anything. Why? you want one? Buy those 400's off Rusty. Those are great prices. Esp. With the pipes and all. If I had the extra coin for more engines I wouldve already bought these up. Not good timing for me. Bet they scream though.

I would but I wouldn't spend over $700 for an two stroke Engine if any thing I would save to buy a 4 stroke snow mobile Engine

Ok. Give him $700 for each Engine
300 for each pipe
And a couple hundred for electronics.

Wow I'm sounding like a car dealer now.
