Holes in the exhaust bridge wont work because it will cause it to be weaker and pertrude into the cylinder faster. Holes in the piston and relieving the bridge lubes the bridge and keeps its temps down. Ne reason to reinvent the wheel when its a tried and true way to fix the problem

Question, how would relief holes in the exhaust bridge work? instead of the piston

Holes in the bridge would not do anything but maybe make things hotter, how it works is the holes in the piston use the fresh cooler gas/oil/air mix from the crank cases to cool and lube the exhaust bridge, a small amount is passed through the holes as they pass over the bridge, as the piston travels down pressure is built up under the piston from the piston taking up volume as it moves down the stroke, the pressure is used to force the mix out the holes to the bridge.

Cool setup really.

When the piston is moving up its creating a low pressure area and fresh gas/oil/air mix is sucked into the Engine.

Hit all the aesthetic surfaces with the bead blaster. Then rinsed a few times in the gas-o-rinse-bucket and blown off with dry air. Looks new again!

Got the rings & grooves soaking in acetone now. I guess the piston sat in a box for years, but he put klotz on the rings. It turned to funny varnish. See how it looks in the AM.

Check your cyl studs for stretching, looks like some are narrower at the middle section.
Use verniers or straight edge to make sure.
Over the years/owners, they are torqued down many times.
Also ensure they are torqued in correctly.
When I had mine,3 studs loosened up,plus my mech Dean noticed most were stretched in the middle, also showed me to look at the wider gaps in the threads, had a good eye.

It's very tempting to buy more parts off of Bill, but I had to put a limit on my spree. Bought the Jemco pipe as well as a Comet 94c, all for under $200 shipped from FL to OH. And that's likely all I'll buy (for now).

Pics attached. A little blurry. Will get some better shots when it arrives, hopefully before 2013.

Bill says he's got the receipts for the studs and bolts and they're brand spanking new, un-used.

That's a cool looking pipe. Looks pretty short. Will it bolt into an fl350 stock location?

Yep, it will need a mount or two welded on.

And here's the Jemco pipe...

In hindsight, I had a stock pipe sitting on the floor 6' away and should've taken a side-by-side photo.

Silencer placement will be a little trick. I've got a clean Klemm in my FL350R pile, and have a FMF powercore from a Zilla that can be hacked and fit. Will prob use the Klemm since it's steel, so I can weld on any required mounts (FMF is alum and I don't have TIG).
