It says the pictures "were borrowed, but looks great". So are they pictures of this actual Pilot? Or another one similar to his?

It's a scam I've tried calling the guy but have never received a response. Not to mention he's listed the thing more than once using different pics that where also borrowed.

Actually this guy was legit. I got in touch with him this past weekend, checked out the Pilot on Monday, and proptly went to the bank to get the $4900 that he was currently asking for it.

The pictures of the Pilot are also legit. The one I bought is the one in the pictures. Not sure what he meant by "These pictures are borrowed". I didn't ask either. The Pilot is in fabulous condition with so many upgrades I'm not even sure I can list them all.

Has Long-travel front suspension with Axis shocks. Rear shocks are aftermarket I believe, but maybe not...haven't had much time to actually look at it. Has the 102C upgraded clutch, some digital temperature display or something on the steering wheel (like in the pictures), 6-pack rack, license plate holder, leather/vinyl snap-on hood up front, and the list goes on and on. It fires up immediately and runs like a bat out of hell. I've heard that ATV Racing in Phoenix is not the group that should do your Engine work, and I think they did this Engine, and I'm not really sure what exactly they did to it, so I'm going to have to do some research on that. The Engine work was done at least 5 years ago. The fellow I bought it from had purchased it 5 years ago for his wife who only rode it 3 times. It's been sitting in his garage with all his other toys for almost 3 years now without being ridden. Still, it fired right up (battery tender) for him and for me once I got it home. I'll post some better pictures of it in a separate thread so I can officially anounce my adoption of a Pilot.

Anywho, the most current craigslist ad I could find of it is here:

http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/rvs/3774066734.html" ."..

So now I'm officially a Pilot owner!!! Stoked is an understatement for how I'm feeling.

Once my chemotherapy is completed and I am given a clean bill of health, I'll start working to get my strength back so I can be ready to shred sometime this Fall.

Woot!!!

the think on the steering looks like an older style digitron temperature and tachometer. I've got one similar on a go kart, has a sensor that goes on the spark plug wire and mine has a head temp which had a thermocouple that has a ring that went under the pulg.

Yup, is made by Digitron. Not sure what it does...yet. There is at least one coaxial RF cable hooked to it. Looks like RG316 cable to me. I just finished taking an even closer look at the machine and I have to say that I'm very impressed at the overall condition of this thing. For being 24 years old, it looks to be in amazingly good shape. It is VERY clean. The carb looks different than stock...in fact, it looks different than anything I've seen on a Honda...it sure isn't from the 80's. It looks to have a flat slide but it doesn't look like any of the standard aftermarket carbs I've seen used on Honda 2-strokes. I'll have to post pictures in the hopes that someone here on the forums can help me identify this stuff.

And the Engine was definitely done by ATV Racing. They engraved "ATV" on the head and cylinder. Going to check later on this evening to see if it is filled with race gas. The exhaust has that "race gas" smell to it.

Chemo sucks. I now know what it feels like to get poisoned, and it's no picnic. I have one more cycle to go through, and possibly a surgery, but I'll be damned if this is going to kill me. I've got too much living left to do. Plus, I have a 4yo daughter and a 5yo son who are really counting on daddy to pull through this.

And yeah, I can't believe how freakin neat (and beautiful) these Pilots are up-close. Why in the world would Honda not reintroduce these things? They are so much safer than those new side by side things. They could stick some sick 4-stroke Engine in them and even meet California emission standards. Oh well, I got mine, so I'm stoked!!!

Thank you sir. I feel like I won the lottery with this purchase. The Pilot is an amazing piece of engineering. It's cool factor pegs the meter. I had my neighbor and his buddy help me unload it from the U Haul I rented to bring it home in. They were both pretty gaga over it. I can totally understand why.

Now I need to sell my Goldwing to backfill the savings account. D'oh!!!
