Hello Riders Everywhere.

Im new to this scene and just picked up 2 new toys, an Odyssey fl350 and an 89 pilot. I have invested 4k into getting both toys and have clean titles for both. I would like to know what are some upgrades both suspension and Engine parts that would be good to do to either one? The owner of the 350 before me told me he had bored out the Engine to a 383. The pilot has a freshly rebuilt Engine with only one trip to the dunes, also has NO front lights. Any ideas or suggestions on what to do or recommend a shop in AZ to do some work on these machines whould be greatly appreciated. Any MEMBERS HERE IN THE NORTHERN AZ AREA? Thanks!

Welcome aboard. and with that being said, whatever you do, do not go to atv racing. The best bang for you buck is shabadada Aka rusty. He does great fab work and is affordable.

Welcome to the forum... A few mods that can make a difference are:

Fl350- put works shocks on it all around( cost about $1400 for 4 new shocks) well worth it to be able to walk true after a day of riding- stock suck!

- air box modification ( dual intake) makes a big performance change.(rejet the carb)
-long travel front suspension(wish I had it).
-
Pilot:
-I don't have one but others will tell you about there
Mods.

- I think a airbox mod is still a good idea.

Good luck, if you have tech questions ask away and guys will help you out!

Randy Thanks on the tips where to start.

Hoser Im 1hr North of Phx before Flagstaff in a town called Prescott. Do you know anyone that might work on these machines out my way? Any other forum members? Thanks.

Fat Cat maybe he did but the price I paid for the Fl350 made up for it..

Hoser I ride in the woods, flat lands around my area. The altitude is is about 4500-5500ft. The pilot is jetted with a 140 and im not sure about the Odyssey that is currently @ a local shop getting carb cleaned and other adjustments.

I agree you got a good price at $4000 for a pilot and an odyssey. Just letting you know the guy was BSing you or he was totally clueless.

that's it for now. I will post more pics later when the Odyssey comes back home, also have a nice looking Odyssey fl250 joining my fam. That one also is at the shop getting a tune up. The 250 sits on 12" ITP wheels from a Rhino with a beard seat and all black powder coated frame, no fenders...

With our help we can also save you money. Nothing better than workin on your own toys and not having to rely on a shop. Carbs are simple and easy enough to work on. Make sure to read up on plug chops and jetting, these engines can be damaged fairly easy without setting them up right. Altitude and temp also effect jetting, so be mindful of them. Looks like the cage on the pilot has been bent down from a roll over, but it can be easily fixed with a jack, a few pieces of wood, and a sledge or mallet hammer.

Nice score on the new toys and welcome to the site.
