I just got back last night from my trip to LA. I stopped by Pink Coral Dunes, Dumont and Ocotillo Wells. I had a blast and took tons of pictures. I took the 86 ATC250R and put it in the wifes new minivan. Saved a ton of gas over my gas hog truck.

Pink Coral reminded me somewhat of large rolling waves and is seems to be about the same size area as Walden, Col. The sand was like LS Oklahoma, very fine and reddish. My headlight burned out that night so it was a long spooky ride back by starlight.

Dumont had the tallest dunes by far and most are razorbacks. It was soooo crowded that someone is definatly going to get hurt. It was the only one I had to pay $20 to get into($60 if you bring a trailer). The sand there was course sand like kids sandbox sand.

Ocotillo Wells is basically a desert with alot of wide sand washes and one large rough sand dune on a hillside to race up. Almost everyone there ran dirt tires(duh, its a rocky desert) except me so I ruled the sand drags. I beat a 660 Raptor with paddles 3 out of 4 and several YFZ 450s. I beat something called an Alba 3 times in a row and he left. He didn't talk to me so I don't know what it was. The only race I lost was when I grabbed 2nd, It stood staight up(scared the crap out of me). I must of been a little too far back on the seat.

After four days of riding, my thighs were killing me. I walked around Tuesday thru Friday like I was very popular in prison! LOL Gary

File comment: A very steep climb. I had to scoot up on tank and keep my head over the bars. I couldn't even snatch 3rd without it instantly bogging out. I could pull in 4th racing the hill at Ocotillo Wells hill for example.
