**Only 3 left**

However, it seems we've depleted Powersport Superstore's stock of the M-VM36-200 carb flanges, lol. I'm waiting for a response from them regarding backorder status, as I need 6-8 more for the L400 & FL350 intakes.

Price is $131 and includes the aluminum manifold, rubber carb flange (stock or big), clamp, and (2) M8x1.25 bolts for the flange. That price assumes fee-less payment. If your Paypal charges me a fee, add 5% to your total ($138).

I've only got (1) big-carb flange left right now, and not sure when I'll be getting a few more. Plenty of stock-carb flanges though.

Sounds good. Thank you! :-)

I just took the evilbay ad down for the last big-carb kit. Leaves (2) Pilot manifolds remaining.

FYI...Even though I jacked up the price on evilBay to $169.99 + s/h, the last (2) Pilot manifolds with stock flange are still available via PO.com for $131 shipped. Figured I'd try to take a stab at the random desperado looking for an intake on the net. ;)

Still got one Pilot intake left, and its got the 36-39mm carb flange on it. Ready to ship.

$131 shipped (or $164.99 on evilbay). This is #25 of the 25 part run.

I have a 89 fl400 i'm stuck with a problem. it came as a non runner. burnt piston. he had just changed the pipe and carb, and I think did not jet it properly. he had it jetted for sea level, from supplier, and then ran it. not so smart.
He had put a 38mm mikuni carb on it. I am not sure how he hooked it to the breather box but I can not get the stock boot to stretch enough. the intake side of carb is 61mm the stock carb is 55mm. I do not know if the 7 years it sat made the boot less pliable or what he used.
Has anybody come up with a good solution to the air intake side when using a bigger carb?
I have the stock carb but do not have the choke assembly. Does anybody have or know where to get a stock choke assembly?
trying to get this machine going.

The down-tube from the airbox is 23-24 yrs old in almost any case. Rubber hardens over time, losing its elasticity. Plus there isn't much material there to stretch and you risk tearing the boot.

[1] I've seen pod style air filters mounted directly to the carb. This is up for debate since the 2-stroke Engine uses the airbox to reflect the pressure pulse and uses it as an intake noise muffler. Pod filters are cheap. Give it a try.

[2] You may have to take some measurements and then browse the Home Depot or Lowes plumbing aisle for rubber/silicone elbows and fittings. Or even evilBay. May have to use multiple fittings or adapters to make it work.

[3] Make your own airbox.

SOLD OUT!

Min order quantity at the CNC shop is 10 units, and price is +$15 because I ordered more last time (25). Stay tuned.

I have a request for 2 more this weekend, so if we can get another 6 requests, I can order more. I know I can sell 2 on evilBay in due time. New baby arrives in 5wks, so I can't take any investment dives.

Dan

Sold out. Minimum run quantity is 10, so I'd like to get at least 6 pre-sold before the parts get machined.

For everyone else who bought one...
...Are you happy with the intake?
...Anything you'd change, add, or do different?

The rubber manifolds that came with mine were too small I only run 39mm carbs on my Pilot I asked for the 38mm manifolds they came with the 32mm or 34mm ? manifolds, not a big deal I ordered the right manifolds that appear to be the exact same brand as the 32-34mm manifolds, the ones I bought were advertised as Mukini they came in a bag with a vendor label as "Mikuni" they don't look like any Mukini manifolds I have ever seen on any OEM Engine I suspect they are FAKES like the NGK plugs viewtopic.php?f=1&t=118

I have not had time to contact Mukini to confirm my suspicions I am going to try and locate some used manifolds I have some place in my shop that I know came as OEM and use them until I get this all sorted out.

Their is so much counterfeit shit coming out of china these days its not funny, not risking my Engine on these manifolds until I know more, if they prove to be genuine Mikuni manifolds I will then install without hesitation and and with confidence :-)

I am sorry I just don't have the time to pursue validating the rubber manifolds at this time, the aluminum part of the manifolds looks perfect almost too pretty to install on my Pilot lol I hope to install and test in the near future :-)

Also if I validate the manifolds will use the 32mm on FL250's in the future I think I still have the manifold as seen in the pics here viewtopic.php?f=1&t=509&view=previous I forget the details of the fitment if it works with the stock carb, boot, airbox but if it does maybe a batch can be made for the 250 guys? I know a guy that is good at making this happen lol

Hoser, I completely agree with you on the rubber "Mikuni" components. Seems like the only thing I've found has the Mikuni part number, but no Mikuni name or symbol. I haven't had any issues with 'em though.

OK EVERYONE, A NEW GROUP BUY IS OFFICIALLY ON!

I've had a few interested parties on here in FL400R Pilot "Dan-i-Fold" intakes.

Here is the pricing for anything under (20) kits total:

>> FL400R Intake Manifold w/ Bolts......$136
>> Rubber Flange w/ clamp...............$ 22
>> USPS Shipping (US48)...................$ 7
GRAND TOTAL...............................$165

If you want an extra flange, not a problem. Just add the cost. Don't want the flange, subtract it.

I can ship (2) kits in one parcel, so if you buy (2) you only need to pay shipping for (1).

Call me stupid, but this includes $0 profit for me. Since the machining cost is only based on 10qty, the price went up (prev was 25qty). Also the rubber flanges are now $20+tax. I will NOT be selling these on evilBay ever again because of evilBay listing fees and Paypal fees. So this is a PO.com-only deal. :-)

I cannot order until I have at least (6) committed pre-paid orders. From time of order, lead-time is 3-4wks. Cash, money order, or non-fee Paypal. I will not collect $'s until we've got at least 6-units committed.

PM me for details.

-Dan

Ok, folks. I'm going to go ahead and have some of these made for the Pilot. Anyone else interested? If not, you'll be stuck paying evilBay prices.

Machining starts in a couple days. Lead-time is 3wks.
