I own a honda pilot fl400R and a need a new (????) or used complete crankshaft with rod lower pin, upper pin, bearings and thrust washers. My crankshaft is really broken and can't be fixed. I live in the netherlands (europe) and I can't get it there. Does someone have a new or used complete crankshaft and what is the price (incl shipment to the netherlands). Or do you know someone in the netherlands or europe who sells spareparts for a honda pilot.

How bad is it broke? If its just the rod and pin that's broke speedchaser can install a new rod for you.

Post up some pictures of the damage to your crank.

You can replace the rod with a CR500 rod you should be able to source one of these and have it installed in your area.

Both the left and right lobe of the crankshaft are broken. When I disassembled the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) (it would not run anymore) I saw that the previous owner used a wrong bigend and welded (!!!!) the bigend to the left and right lob. So both the lobs are really damaged. So I really need a spare crank

Here are some pictures. The inside (where the big-end fits in) of the both lobes is damaged. So the big-end does not fit in properly anymore, its to lose.

Looks like its been rebuilt before and it was welded and someone tried to take it apart without grinding the welds down first or they tried to press the pin all the way through the holes ?

So I wonder if a machine shop can locate where the center of the hole was then bore that hole out bigger and press in a insert to rebuild the hole, once its pressed in then weld the insert in the crank lobe on both sides, then machine it all back down as if it was stock to accept a new pin?

Like installing a sleeve in a cylinder...

DO NOT THROW AWAY THE OLD DAMAGED CRANKSHAFT !

Since pilotpete doesn't have one I would try Nick Pena next socalgii@pacbell.net he is a great guy to deal with.

And as a last resort I would try ATV Racing. http://www.atvpowersportsphx.com

Here's pics of 2 used cranks. The guys here will point out problems .I'll have Cruz from the board look at these next week to check or flaws-he lives near me. I offer money back if not happy, but the shipping would be prohibitive if you found a problem.

Thanks for your reply. Good to see there are used cranks. I am not i native english speaker so I don't understand some parts of your post. What do you mean with: the guys here will point out problems.

Do you already know the price for a crank?

I have dealt with nick for years his parts are always well described and worth the money he asks, just in case you need any feedback.

I'd suggest contracting with one of the guru's here on the board to ship directly to them, they can evaluate the condition, if it's not good enough the money you would be out would be local shipping plus an agreed amount for being the middle man.
then if needed you can have it rebuild and receive a part that is ready to drop right in the cases.
just my $.02 or would that .02 guilders?

If the lower end of the crank has too much play or past its service limit, they can be rebuilt easily by a machine shop that will balance it properly once a new low end rod bearing and rod are installed. I know versah makes a rebuild kit because i have one on my crank but i believe hot rods and pro-x makes rebuild kits too. A great reference who has rebuilt cranks for us here is speedchaser! I would contact nick about the getting a crank and then contact speedchaser about having it rebuilt for you.

The buyer , who lives in the Netherlands. Is a little nervous about buying something from a complete stranger. Anyway I gave him some of the board members names who have bought items from me.He may contact some of you. The deal was for a rebuilt crank, new oem gasket set,new oem seal and bearing ,with the usual " MONEY BACK IF NOT HAPPY- MINUS SHIPPING" policy.
