I sold my honda fl 400 a while back and was cleaning out my barn and came across a few spare parts. this is a good used cylinder off of a 1989 honda fl 400. not sure on bore size . has been sitting in a box in my barn for 13 yrs. can not get this part from honda any longer. the inside is in good shape and just needs cleaned up up with a light hone as there is a bit of surface rust from sitting. i am selling this as is with NO RETURNS.
SO what happens when a buyer receives this cylinder and discovers its on 82mm bore OR better yet its on 81mm bore but is so rusted and pitted up has to be bored to 82mm just to clean it up, I think someone would have to be a fool to buy a cylinder with these unknowns.
If someone decides to buy this cylinder
ONLY BUY IT with some sort of buyer protection service so when you receive the cylinder and find out its pretty much worthless you can get a full refund.
This would not be the first cylinder that was past its last bore sold on evilbay, this cylinder was not being used for a reason, IF the cylinder was in fact "good" and bought as a good useable spare then MORE would be known about the cylinder, the cylinder would have been bored honed probably even had a new piston kit with it then stored where 13 years later it was not a rusted up unknown condition spare. NOT to mention other possible unknown problems like stripped threads OR damaged or uneven gasket surfaces that will need machining required to repair them.
Hold the mouse over the crappy picture looks like the cylinder is rusted so bad its going to have pitting I just restored a Pilot cylinder that had rust pitting on it last week the owner gave up one over bore size just to remove the rust damage.
Being knowledgeable of these type thing IMO that cylinder in its current condition is worth no more than $50 shipped even then your gambling on buying a paperweight that needs another $400.00 + invested just to have it made useable again.
If this cylinder is worth $500.00 then the SELLER needs to PROVE ITS WORTH with verifiable facts to prove me/us wrong.
Their is a reason why the seller is -->
i am selling this as is with NO RETURNS. BUYERS BEWARE!
