So since OEM motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) mount bushings are now discontinued and no longer able to be ordered, what have people been using for replacements? I read somewhere that one type of GSXR bushings are close, but couldn't locate a part number. Are they the same as the pilots? Is there a big demand for them?

Well, I searched all the Honda dealers in the country and came up with 2 of my 4 needed Engine mount bushings, and 2 out of 4 washers for the other side. I am going to see about having some made by a local shop. If they are willing to do it, is anyone interested in a group buy? Just putting out feelers at this point.

Funny how this works out for me ---- I just ordered a gsxr bushing from a dealer here yesterday and was going to see how close it is. He told me they back ordered so will be 2 weeks before I get it. I will post any results I find.
GSXR part #11681-27A00 $18.00 usa

I picked up 4 of them complete off of ebay. the guy wanted a lot for them but I offered him 40$ shipped. He took the offer, I think they are in great shape. Good used ones are still out there, it did take me awhile to find ones I thought were worth the money.

Does anyone know what the factory Durometer was on the mounts, or what it should be if I am sourcing some?

Yup -- D$ did a thread on it and he took 3 readings and got 59, 50, and 55.9. Average that out and you get a durometer of about 55 Shore A.

And who knows how much they hardened over time & usage, so could really have been even softer when they dropped out of the mold in the mid/late 1980's. Heat, time & UV will all age rubber at rest, too.

Give it a whirl.

Nope still waiting for the call from my local Honda dealer.
They did say it was back ordered and would take two weeks. I believe it has only been a week.
This is Canada so get in line -- that's the motto here. In the states business will kiss your azz. Here you get in line.
I haven't forgotten and will post.

Porn pics below.
Giving them the squeeze test with my fingers and they feel the same.
The issue is that the Suzuki unit is smaller by 4mm but I can't see that being a big issue as you could make a sleeve. The Suzuki unit has enough length on it to shorten to Honda size and the hole diameter is the same. Also the flange is smaller.

More
The large end of the Suzuki is all metal and it has a smaller portion.
Note that I put it in an oddy case to see what it looks like. Lots of material there to work with.

Opinion:
I don't see why the Suzuki unit can't be used with some modification. If you look at the last pic you can see that the metal portion will have to be turned or ground down and the rubber end will have to be turned or ground back so that the outside washer can be put on. You will also have to make a sleeve because it is 4mm smaller in diameter.
Since Honda has discontinued it's Engine mounts it looks like there is no drop in replacement.
The Suzuki has potential and is a contender.

I was also scoping out the Kawasaki mount but I think it is the same size as the Suzuki.
