I agree with you on that supplier if they are not answering. They may have gone out of business or at the very least don't give a poo about the customer so I would pass.

There may be another option here.
You appear to have access to a decent machine shop in your area. I was thinking along the lines of making a sleeve so that an over size bearing can fit. These bearings below have the same width as the ones we need but the bore or the OD is wrong. If a sleeve is made it could be heat shrink onto the shaft. The difference in the #17 bearing is only the bore. It is 5mm to big so if you made a 5mm sleeve and heat shrink it onto the shaft it should work. Ask your machine shop. It could also be reversed later if you don't like the results or actually find the right bearing. Here it is: https://www.motioncanada.ca/productDeta ... u=07247302
Please note these are Canadian prices and this one is in stock.
Bearing #16 is more problematic. The bore and the OD need a 3mm sleeve made.
Here it is: https://www.motioncanada.ca/productDeta ... u=00048326
It is also in stock.

When looking for bearings there is more than one thing to consider. You are also looking for internal clearance. The ones shown above are C3's and that's what we want.
I know these are imperfect solutions but at this point everyone here needs to think outside the box.

I'm pretty sure this kit includes the gearbox gasket. Best price I can find. use the gearbox gasket and sell the rest for cheap.

It does look like the 2 trans gaskets are there, has anyone else bought this kit and want to sell the transmission gaskets?

Have you inspected the clutch pack to see if it is in spec?

$34 delivered for 2 gaskets that are hard to get is a great deal IMO.

not yet, but will do before reassembling. I never had an issue with it slipping that I am aware of.

I agree, that's pretty cheap and I could sell the Engine gaskets and make at least 1/2 of that back but figured if someone else had bought the kit for the Engine then they should have the leftover tranny gaskets.

I've been in contact with Odyknuck, he is the member who used the 17mm wide bearing, he said he did not have any issues with it for the 2 years he used it before selling, I need to see what the cost will be to modify the shaft for the wider bearing vs the cost to modify the bearing to 14mm

Here's the update on the build, not a lot going on but I did order the Athena gasket kit, I also found someone who can modify bearings, I'll be getting a quote from him today. they were highly recommended by my bearing supply contact who I have known for over 30 years, if it pans out then you will know where you can get discontinued bearings.

not much of an update, haven't done any more work on this yet but I do have the quote on modifying some bearings, it will be $125 to mod 2 of each of the un obtainable bearings for the input shaft, I just need to send them in and then should have them back within 2 weeks. I'm going to do this and of course post what I think of the modification and provide the info to the group.

So, I received the bearings, they look good. The corners are finished with champhers, I would have preferred radius but I don't think it will be an issue.

Now I need to clean everything including a spot to assemble and put it back together.

Too many projects going, also working on a new Engine mount, it actually has a higher priority, I have the spare trans in the pilot, need to get the Engine in before 7/16, planning to hit Pismo for a week

For those interested, the place that did the work is Quality Bearing in Azusa, CA, I provide the bearings and it was $125 to do 2 of each.
I'm sure the bigger the order the cheaper the cost. Maybe but together a group buy and I'll be sure to let Neil at ATV Racing know, maybe he would be interested in buying some for stock.
The guys name is Dan, he can also supply the bearings, would save on one way shipping.
