OK, Drakman and I bought some custom electronic tachs for the Draks. Look real good, 16k rpms, multiple shift lights, etc... Anyway, I wired mine up and can't get anything to work. My concern is that the wiring I have done is not good. There are 6 wires that go to various places but I'm not getting any power to the tach at all...no lights, no rpms, nothing. I think it is the ground wire that is problematic. Alain has two ground wires that come out of the back of the ignition module so I spliced into one for my ground. But, after being into wiring for the tach and a Pingel shifter the last few days the wiring is crazy so they may be dummy grounds. Those ground wires are connected to a bolt on the "dash" btw. I'm thinking of running my ground directly to the negative side of the battery....good or bad idea? Will it hurt anything? I think it might be OK as the +12v is switched and I know that works as I tested it. Any advice is appreciated....

BTW, the Pingel is hooked up and works fine. I'll post some pics once the tach is complete and all of the wires are tucked in.

Well, our challenge was to get a tach that would read out our 14k rpm redlines without using a factory GSXR tach and harness as the wiring is a nightmare. After lots of searching I came across this company/website out of Utah: http://www.speedhut.com My experience with them has been superb (great support and shipped as advertised) and every guage is made to order and warranteed for 5 years. Color of bezel, background, graphics, text, etc...can all be added, some for a price. You can have it lighted different ways as well. Their site is pretty slick. You decide what guage you want, say a tach, you choose the colors, graphics and so on and then you can see how the guage looks (even a night mode) before you buy it. I also found their prices to be very good, these tachs ran us $250 each which is $100 cheaper than anything else I found that would work. These tachs can be hooked up to any type of coil set up, number of cylinders, etc... All of the filters one would normally used are built in and switched with dip switches on the back, makes the set up much easier. BTW, the site has much better pics than I have or can take. If you're looking for a guage, certainly a great place to start, they make everything.

Thanks, I figured out my problem....I'm not an electrician, but I can learn pretty quick so I've figured it out with the help of Speedhut; BTW they also helped me troubleshoot my problem from the get-go...check this, check that, etc.... Everything is working now, just going through and double-checking all of my wiring, soldering it up, taping and zip ties then I'll be done until Drakman shows up and I get to do it all over again...
