Look at the starter closely, see the positive stud for the battery cable? If you look it isnt in the stock position where it should be,when you install this particular starter in your 350, the stud will be in the 6 o'clock position and your battery cable will not reach it-it needs to be on top in the 12 o'clock location for proper use.Stretching the cable won't help and it is impossible without a fight to attach it anyways.Just a FYI for you guys just starting up in the hobby here. And BTW alot of the outside guys that sell starters are having the same issues-I just sent 1 back to Elwood for the same reason- double check with every supplier when you purchase a new or rebuilt starter to make sure the location of that positive stud is correct.

Why not just unbolt the entire rear assembly and rotate it 180 degrees?

Most starters I've worked on were b uilt in such a way that you could easily do that and this one looks to be no different.

If you did that the starter bracket that attaches to the side case will not line up with the starter, the stud is mounted on the end piece, not the middle assembly like a stock starter-you can't turn it around and mount the starter in, it will not bolt on-got me?
